I was at the range the other day and tried a friends single stack Para LDA.  Man the trigger was sweet!!  I was shocked at how nice it felt and am now considering getting one.  Anyone else out there have any experience with it?

Too bad they (Para-Ordnance) never bothered
trying to improve
their feeble attempt
at building a decent single action
pistol.

Try to get a peek inside
of a Para before you buy one.

Hey, do any of ya'll have any expirence with Para's small LDA?  I'm thinking it may be the perfect CWC gun.  Heard lots of good stuff about it from folks who saw it at gun shops, but nothing from owners.  I don't know what the smallest LDA is called, bur I'm interested.  Someone please educate me.

The LLDA 645 (limited LDA), 3 inch barrel, is supposed  to be shipped to dealers any day now.  All stainless steel, rosewood grips, hammerless for concealed carry.  They shoud cost 615 - 695 depending on your dealer's discount off MSRP.

Ran 150 rds through my 1445 LDA today - flawless with both 230 ball and 185jhp.  Plus, you can get +4 bases for a total mag capacity of 17.  Not bad for 45acp

Have you owned one?  I have always heard good things about Para, and the examples I've looked at compared favorably with the fit and finsh of Kimber and Springfiled.  I've been considering an LDA of some sort.

How about more concrete criticism than "Para's Suck?"

P-14 Ltd.

I'll start with the barrel.

#1 There are six lands
beginning with various amounts of taper
at various locations forward of the chamber.
Three were obliterated
just forward of the chamber
in what must have been an attempt
to make a leade.
The circular
marks of incompetance are
quite visible from the chamber end.

The other
three extend the entire length
of the barrel right down to the
chamber with a short taper.

A bad start for any bullet.

#2 The grooves are so full of broach
marks and und uneven cutting
that the barrel is impossible to clean
.

#3 The ramp is machined
unevenly at the base
and the contour is
uneven from left to right.

#4 "Tuned trigger" pull = 7.5 #s.

#5 Plastic magazine catch.
This sucker has failed so many times
it's not funny. Fire one or
two.
STOP.
Pick up your mag that went south.

#6 The frame looks like
it was chiseled
where it was machined
to accept the slide release.

#7 Will not accept more than three
rounds of ammo loaded
to 1.265 OAL.
which is below the standard of 1.275.

#8 Bullet setback.

Factory hardball loaded at
1.260 OAL
measures 1.257 to 1.250
after being chamberd
from slide lock.

MY shooting buddy has an LDA14, it is a very nice gun, I ahave several 1911's so I had no desire for another. But I would eventually think about getting one.

I tried one at the range and liked the trigger also.  Very nice.  Have been thinking about getting one, but have other things competing for my money.

I have been happy with my p14-45.

The guys that like them seem to really like them, but some guys are really concerned about the construction of the trigger parts.  Hmmmm, I'm starting to get that unsure feeling here.  Maybe a more traditional single stack from Springfiel or Colt or Kimber might be a safer bet?

Here you will find an incomplete article
by Walt Rauch.

The entire article
is no longer available
at the link on this site.
Why????

The entire
article
goes on to mention
that after
testing (5000 rounds)
the frame
was warped.

Also notice the reference to Kirby Smith.
He is the same man who writes most of
the positive Para reviews
for the gun rags.

I have the LDA 14+1. That is a lot of 45. I love the gun. IT is a very sweet trigger.
I shoot several 1911 but wanted a double action. It was the natural choice.
