Actually the first word I got of the Sept. 11 attack was from his show. I think he handled it well.

I listened to stern acouple of times and found him to be vulgar and stupid. Believe I am no prude but it struck me that the listeners that tune into stern probably watch springer and big time wrestling as well. Just don't want to be part of that demographic.

I used to listen to Stern about 15 years ago, when I lived in NJ, during my morning drive to work. I remember one bit he was doing where he was having a contest that pitted 3 couples against each other. They had to engage in loud sex while he and the radio audience monitored the activites over the phone (which the "contestants" had left off the hook next to the bed). By the time he got to couple #2 I figured out why "the club" was such a good theft deterrent. About 2 minutes into couple #2 the woman, who's a screamer already, starts moaning loudly, "No! Oh no! NOT THAT!! OOOooooo!!! At that point my steering wheel mysteriously locked and I drove off the road. [:P]

I consider myself to be pretty tolerant of gutter humor, but only if it's actually funny. Stern and his infantile blather just enrage me for some reason. There are only so many times you can hear dick and ass jokes before you want to break something.

Howard is great fun to listen to, certainly more sensible than some of the morning zoo's and other idiots on the air. For those that call him vulgar and immoral, don't listen. Turn it off and tune in another station. He is not trying to be intellectual or profound and uses shock, insults, and low humor to be funny. Anyone who listens to him has to accept that this is his way of being funny even if it is mostly bathroom humor. I can't see his TV show where I'm at but the morning radio show really passes the time.

I never thought very much of stern or his humor until the 11th. The few weeks after that he was excelent. No trash humor, he was serious yet entertaining. He started a fundraiser for the victims and then said all the money was going to be used to bomb afghanistan, i loved it. It seems he is now reverting back to his ass and dick jokes as mentioned and i figure in a few weeks i'll stop tunning in.

I like his New Jersey/New York accent - but: I remember when it was not acceptable to say p*ss on the radio, but you could say Jesus. Does Howard remember?

Is BEETLEJUICE also known as IMBROGLIO.?[;)]

I listen every day. I like it because its the ONLY morning show that goes ALL MORNING with NO music. Most morning shows around here have one joke, 10 songs, news then 1 joke, 10 songs, news, ect... Howard is all talk (a band every once in a while but no real music) and I like that. WE don't get Mancow. BISHOP

Stern sucks. All of that rude, crude, shock jock crap sucks. With people pumping that shit into their heads every morning, it's no wonder our country is going down the toilet. Bob Rivers on KZOK in Seattle is pretty good. That's about all the talk radio I can tolerate.

Yes it's true. Are you really surprised?
Link Posted: 10/17/2001 8:39:30 PM EDT
Not that surprised. I'll miss him though. He was funny. Did he die of a heart attack?
Link Posted: 10/17/2001 10:35:57 PM EDT
I used to listen to him 5 years ago, but he had and still has too much of the same crap on. It is just damn boring to me now. What was the deal with the Jokeman leaving the show? I never found out what happened.
