NEW YORK, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Small amounts of the potential
germ warfare agent anthrax have been found in the New York
governor's offices in Manhattan, NY1 News TV cable station
reported on Wednesday.
The station quoted state government sources as saying the
anthrax was found in a secure area used by New York State
Police within the building on Third Avenue. The 38th and 39th
floors of the building where Gov. George Pataki has offices,
have been closed off, the report said.
Two positive cases of anthrax have been reported by New
York health authorities in the past week, one in an assistant
to NBC-TV news anchor Tom Brokaw and the other in the infant
boy of a producer at ABC-TV.
