Has anyone heard...

That there are now NATO (read German Luftwaffe)AWACS aircraft flying patrol over the United States. Some co-workers said they are doing this because we are stretched too thin and needed the assistance. Anyone know of a source to confirm or dispell this rumor? [:\]

The president's press conference confirmed it for me. He didn't mention the Luftwaffe however. The Sec Gen of Nato is Scottish, so maybe we'll be forced to eat haggus(sp).

Five aircraft are involved, the news didn't say what types, but noted that "25% of the crews are German"

Has anybody seen confirmation that Posse Comitatus got suspended? I notced the other day that the Air Force is cocked and locked ready to shoot down civilian airliners, but nobody is raising any fuss about it. Did the declaration of the State Of Emergency suspend this article?
