I am contemplating my next fun gun purchase and I am in search of a .308 SUR. I was wondering if anyone knew the feasiblity of getting an AR-10 that used FN-FAL mags? Doesnt this seem like a good idea. Instead of $80 for an AR-10 mag or $40 for a M-14 pay only $6 for a used FAL and plink all day. Plus, cheaper mags = a larger stockpile of them. I am open to thoughts, ideas or advice.

Hesse makes an AR-10 clone that uses converted FAL mags. The conversions may violate ATF regs, and Hesse has a spotty rep here. Haven`t heard from anyone who has one. HTH
