British mercenaries have been trying to trace Osama Bin Laden so that they can claim the multi million bounty America has put on his head.
A former SAS soldier said last week that he knew of four attempts by former British servicemen to try to pinpoint OBL in his Afghanistan base. A second special forces veteran confirmed that private operations have been mounted By bounty hunters from Britain and America.
There is plenty of incentive. A $5M bounty wasput on obl after the bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa in Aug '98 when more than 200 people were killed. The reward "for information leading directly to the apprehension or conviction of the terrorist has ben increased to $30M since R. Mueller became head of the FBI.Pes. GW Bush has made it clear he wants Bin Laden "dead or alive".
The source said a bounty hunter would not need to capture or kill the terrorist to claim the reward. Intelligence on his future movements or position would qualify if it led to an official operation that brought him to justice. A lucky intercept by a freelance computer hacker or ham could qualify for the reward.......

There's something to be said for the tactic of making Bin-Laden's head more valuable to other people than to him.

This morning Fox reported the Corporate bounty had been increaded to $1 Billion !!

That's big cheese.

Also reported that some "not very nice people" were expected to join the hunt.
GREAT !!

I think the reward is mainly to attract people close to bin laden who already know his movement.  His follower will have to die for his cause sooner or later..., why not take the money?  

I wonder if the reward money will be traced carefully in case the one who betrayed bin laden actually belongs to different terrorist group and needed money for their own operations...
