Is it any good? I was under the impression that 1:9 was optimal for a varied selection of bullet weights. Does anyone have any experience/recommendations for the 1;8 twist?

If your looking to shoot bullets over 75 Gr., they say that's the way to go. I had a 1:9 Oly barrel that shot real well with 75 GR., I didn't try anything heaver than that, I got a Colt 1:7 and it shoots 80 Grs real well, Now I hear some 1:9 barrels will shoot 80 Gr bullets, I think it varies from barrel to barrel.
