Last night I attended a gun show and here is a sample of some of the "great deals" I discovered. 1) One guy was selling Professional Ordnance AR's for $1000 and telling all who would listen that they were one of the best AR's ever built. 2) Some creep was selling USA magazines AR clips for $30 a peice. 3)Another fraud was selling Century Arms M1 Garands for $550 which is $150-$200 more than the local shop. There are more examples of this but I trust you get the idea. The whole freaking show was nothing but frauds. Should not be a surprise since the last three shows have been the same crap. Just a waste of five bucks.

Gun shows pray on the unknowing. You just have to go to shows big enough where the law of averages mean that there are at least a few decent dealers there. Just got back from the Wilmington, OH show. There were some outrageously priced stuff there, but then again, picked up some cheap Hirty .308 and some used exc cond USGI MIA mags for $25. You just have to have the self-discipline to know your stuff, and try to avoid impulse buys.

I just got back from the Pasadena gun show and some guy was selling Norinco MAK 90's for $700 and SAR-1's for $450. I couldn't help it so I laughed in his face. Did get some NIW Center Ind. 30's for $20 ea. though.

Kind of funny. I was set up at a show last year and had M14 types and ARs mainly. I put a M1A with the rest with a Bipod and priced it at $1800. It was the gun picked 95% of the time and sold at $1650,only difference was the bipod. People need to think! cpermd

At least you have a choice, here in CA the biggest choices you have is between teriyaki or regular beef jerky [:(]

Forgot to mention that some guy was selling MAK-90s and saying that they were unissued Vietnam war era relics which is why they were worth $600.

In Rochester today, there was one guy selling a nornico AK for $900, but another was selling Romanian AK's or $350 each. Shop around the bargans are still out there.

Gun shows used to be the best place to get deals. I haven't gone to one in a few years now, and it sounds like there isn't much point to going any time soon.

Gun shows are places for A-holes to get rid of their most unwanted crap and try to pick up desireable stuff for a pitance! I've never found them worth the price of entrance! Buyer beware! DaMan

I went to the gun show today in Cheyenne Wyoming with my Dad. It was probably the worst gun show I have ever been to. I did pick up two USGI 30rnd Mags with Green Followers in excellent shape for $15ea but it cost $10 to get us both in so they actually cost $20ea :). There were other great deals like new bushmaster AR's for $900, old scratched up and abused 92fs for $550, oooohhhh and how could I forget the ASA L1A1 recievers for just under $500!

And another thing. Why are there so many smelly/sloppy looking people wearing camo? Its really sickning to see someone smelling like sh*t and 50 lbs over weight in full BDU's.

I hit every gun show in the central section of Florida and I have NEVER even seen a kettle corn stand! The jerky is good though!

One thing to remember when attending a gun show is that the seller has to contend with all you people with no money who bring in some rusty Marlin model 60 22lr and try to pass the rust off as patina. You guys pay retail for guns then wonder why a dealer who buys new guns for wholesale won't even give you wholesale price for the used gun you are selling. By overinflating thier prices on the guns they have they are able to allow you retail pluss for your prize collector crap as trade in.

Florida is a retirement home state and old folks can't eat popcorn because the hulls get caught in their dentures.

I still think gun shows are worth the $6 it takes to get in. There are a lot of expensive stuff, but there are still bargains and also it can be good to be out with other gun owners and realize how many of us there are. The one I was at last week was packed.

As an addition to the Cheyenne gun show.....how about old beat up 10/22's for $235.00? Then I get to work, look in the paper and see that Gart sports has them on sale for $139 3 or 4 older Ruger MKII with spotty bluing for $15 less than NIB. Yes, great bargins at the gun show. Did get to see a few AR10's though. Hadn't seen one before

Wanamaker's Gun Show will be in Tulsa on Oct. 20th and 21'st. It's a big show and you can see a variety of guns. They have stuff from $50 to $35,000+ (I never knew fine english doubles could cost so much). Anyway I've always had a good time there. The men in our family try to gather there once a year. My father will be driving in from MN. [sniper]

I think the best way to get a "good buy" at a show is to get to the people selling stuff as they come in. Actually, stand outside and talk to them befor they come in.That way no dealers try and talk smack, or complain and have you kicked out. Hmmm...kinda sounds like of done this a few times..huh? HAHA!

well I do sell at a few and did last weekend but only put a remington 700 in 06 with scope out for sale as I bought a 7mm mag for elk this year. the price was $325 and I did go down. other than that sold alot of surplus for right around what my prices were here. also here's what I paid for some things and remember it was taken home right their and I did not have to wait. #1 5 cases of 1,000 winchester Q3131a .223 price $160 each #2 20 adventureline 20 round mags very nice $180 #3 8 okays 30 rounders $10 each #4 3 pounds rl-15 $15.50 each #5 2 boxes hornady 75grain moly $13.50 box #6 1 box of 500 sierra 77grain match king $74 #7 25 boxes of winchester 62 grain m855 $6 box #8 500 rounds pmp .223 $2.75 box #9 large bag of vietnam 1970 plastic 20 round bags for mags about 25 of them $5 for all #10 20 boxes of 12 gauge for under $3 a box well that was last weekend and went again this mourning and bought some more stuff. were not as many deals this time but did get a few things. 3000 winchester 55 grain bullet tips new for $100 2 boxes federal premium 160 grain nosler for total of $20 split a case of s.a. 308 with another ar15 member so for $100 I got 630 rounds not the best deal but not bad considering how prices are going up oh bought a real nice cetme 308 in very nice shape for $500. got to pick from a few of them and got one that seems to function and sights were straight. did see those same guns on everyone elses table for over $600 and the $450 sar-1's but their were some $329 dollar one's too. but with in the first hour all the cheap one's were gone and there was a big line at the ammo table for the wholesellers. the guys I was with bought 8 cases of .223 and .308 and the stuff was being carted out by alot of folks and they should be out by tonight or early tommorrow. also order some cases of Q3131a for next week also.

The Waukesha show, eh? I was just there and will be back on Sunday morning. Yeah, there are a lot of turds. "Preban" FAL's with Imbel receivers? Rusdsian SKS with folding stock? I know what you're saying. But, I did pick up a bulk box of 20 and 30 rounder USGI mags. 27 for $300.00. Anywhere from 50% - 99% finish condition and a few NEW ones to boot. WOO HOO! (Pics to come if I can get my d*mn scanner working.)
