Please don't misunderstand me, I'm with you guys, but how do you plan on living if this becomes an eventuality? It's great to say "I won't get one!" but how do you plan to feed your family?
Do you have a social security card/# now? Do you use it every time you pay your taxes, buy/sell a car, get your driver's license, get medical care or get a job? If so, do you really think you've not accepted a national ID system already? Again, I do not intend to get a "smart card" as an ID system either. If not, though, I'm going to have to find a good farm and a good group of friends willing to barter for services. I don't expect the gov't to let this go on for long, either. What do you intend to do? I am with you if you've taken this seriously - know what it means, though. Black Fox |
|
Well, I was given a SS# before I could speak out and say Noooooooo mamma. But now that I can speak for myself I will pass. God is in my life as much as he is in a lot of people here. And we know that it is pretty close to that time. Bush is talking to the EU about this card too. This is coming very close to the end it seems. I know that a card that you must have to live and buy here is that card. Mark of the Beast! I will NOT sign up for it PERIOD! My family will NOT sign up for it PERIOD! I will move to my land out in southeast Texas and live as free as I can or die free at least. I have many family members that can pull their own weight and we can work together to survive.
But I hope I am wrong about this card. If not then it is the mark! Am I wrong? |
|
We already have a national card, the social security card. Did you ever try to get a job without one? I also agree with most of you. No way. I think the feds can already keep track of us with the SS card right now.

Blackfox, I have given this a lot of thought over the past few years, more so lately.
I don't know exactly how my family and I would live or for how long, on this earth, but I have a pretty good idea where we will spend eternity. Assuming that at the time I/we have the courage of our faith, if you know what I mean. |
|
If I didn't see all the flags waving everywhere, I'd swear this was some other country...
What is happening to our USA ??? |
|
Agreed, GWF, agreed. I know EXACTLY what you mean.
I just don't want us all to get caught up in the "feel good" atmosphere here and forget what this really means. A year ago you talked about a National ID and people would have suggested tin foil poisoning. This is just the beginning. If this has come out in the first few days, imagine what will happen after attack #14?? I'm afraid this is only beginning, and it will only get worse. I hope I am wrong. Let us not confuse ourselves what we're up against, though. Black Fox |
|
So they skipped registering all guns in the US and are thinking about registering people instead! nice!
|
|
If you read Revelation carefully though you will see that the "Mark of the Beast" does not come into play until approximately 3.5 years into the tribulation after "peace world-wide" has been made.
Although this "ID Card" is rather prophetic and even though the stage is certainly being set it is not yet come to pass my friends. All has not been fulfilled...............yet! |
|
Well, regardless of whether or not this is "the mark", it is a step in a certain direction...
I find it ironic, that in a time in which the media seems to be promoting prayer, and nationalism beyond anything we have seen in the past 10 years, the orchastrating that is taking place behind the scenes, is that of invoking hostility toward an enemy that is still rather undefined, and produce FEAR in the population at the same time. (guerilla units are hard to pinpoint and define, as the 'cell' structure is designed to operate independant of a command structure) I think there are more diabolical plans at hand then just "ridding the world of terrorism". This national ID card, is a step... a step in a direction. If we take this card, and learn to LIVE with it, then what will life be? I would rather be free, than be a slave to something that only exists in the hearts of men. I wonder if they will restrict, "straw purchases" of all goods, for folks that don't have a ID card. Many people will be labeled as "Anti Government". It could very well start a revolution. _ FS |

As soon as people start losing or forging ID-Cards, they will phase in implant ID-GPS-Money micro-chip, probably starting with babies, for the Children.

Ditto, ARDOC...
We already have a "national ID card" called the Social Security card. What PISSES ME OFF is that only my employer and bank institutions are supposed to have this number. However, every FREAKING PERSON IN THE COUNTRY asks for it...the insurance company, the doctor, a realtor, anyone who wants to run a credit report, the car dealership, etc. etc. etc. It's BS!!! |

A Republican president and Dick Gephardt are agreeing on this fool measure, something which will create a booming market for counterfeiters and give the US KGB (whoops- Homeland Security types) even more work to do. And of course, they'll need more funding- which will come from you and me... "More tax money is needed for our more secure society, comrades- work harder with Stakhanovite zeal, pay more- security is freedom, war is peace, and- we're doing it for the chiiiiildren!" from he article: The ID card plan was included in a classified briefing outlining steps the nation can take to limit exposure to terror attacks. View Quote Will the card shield me from a bullet, fallout, chemicals, biologicals or blast debris. Nope. Will it track my purchases, travel and activities. Yup. And as a result can it reference and use my data to put me in the 'company' of others at a bar, a store, a theater or gathering. Damn right. This is a bad idea. If you don't accept a NIDC then the flag waiving sheeple will say you must have something criminal to hide and are no better than terrorists.
Guess what is next after the card? A CASHLESS SOCIETY. All of the idiot trekkies would just love being able to use credits to buy crap. That is when the govt will be able to profile you by your purchases and prevent you from buying things you want. For example: Goatboy has been tracked as buying 5000 rounds of 5.56. His credit account is flagged and no more firearms related purchases can be made until he gets a visit from the ATF to make sure he isn't doing anything bad. |

Quoted: As a result of possessing an ID card has the government taken control of my bank account, limited where I can live, or restricted my rights in any fashion thus far? No. View Quote The key words are "thus far." Why not examine the practices of other countries that implemented such paperwork? Do you personally know anyone who lived under these regimes? I do. If you heard their stories, your blood would chill. One of the reasons that there is limited abuse of current ID systems is because they aren't universal. Right now, it's an administrative nightmare to track you, though it can be done if you're important enough. Once it becomes easy (nay, *automatic*) to track you, then abuse becomes much easier. Imagine that your National ID card is required to buy anything. Imagine it being required to board any public transportation, or enter any public building. Imagine all that being tracked, and that information being at the fingertips of any LEO, FBI, CIA, NSA, DIA, etc. agent? Imagine all of that information being cross-referenced with the data coming in from the video cameras that are everywhere. Imagine a world where you have NO privacy. Don't believe it? Ask any person from a former Soviet country. Ask a former East German. Ask someone who lived in Nazi Germany. We used to think of the words "Papers, please." as something that made a society vastly inferior to our own, because of the infringement on personal liberty those words connotate. Soon, it will be here, though it's likely that it will be in an electronic format, so we won't even know when the query is being made. If that doesn't frighten you, it really should. -Troy |

I'm certain that 'free blacks' or slaves who had been freed or had purchased their freedom during the existence of America's 'peculiar institution' were very careful to keep their paperwork in order and with them at all times!
Who knows when some sheriff might require the immediate presentation of those documents when traveling? Maybe an overnight stay in his facilities while these 'freedom documents' were verified by the appropriate authorities? Well, the peculiar institution was destroyed by a war and an amendment, but it appears that new moves are underway to reinstitute an even more peculiar institution in this country. CPL_Punishment-
We've danced around this issue of this being more than just a driver's license or ID. Gephardt specifically said we need to know where people are and that these ID's should be "smart cards." I wear a badge at work to access secure areas, I carry a driver's license which must be presented upon request, I carry a Social Security card with a number that identifies me. None of these track my whereabouts at all times. I think THAT'S the big difference. A Federal Driver's license? I agree - that in itself doesn't sound too invasive. I would have the same problem if they made my driver's license a "smart card," though. I would start carrying a photocopy.... Black Fox |
|
Yes, they need this and to finish the move to a cashless society (digital money). Then everyone will be under control. They basically made bartering illegal with IRS regs years ago. (unless you want to claim the value of goods/services recieved for services provided). You know what really gets my ass twitching? It's always a Republican President that trys this. That's a definite "NEGATIVE"!!!
I REFUSE to take the mark of the beast. Although I believe "The ID CARD" would not be the mark as spoken in the book of revelations, it is DEFINITELY a precursor to such. I believe the same is true of the Euro dollar. Eventually we'll have a one world denomination currency... IF you're a Christian, The Good News is... "Bring it on Baby"! I delight as the book of revelation and prophecy unfold right before my eyes! Know why? It means I'm gettin' out of here that much sooner when the Lord returns for the 2nd time to claim his flock in the rapture. Mark |

I agree with CPL_Punishment that it doesn't have to be a bad thing, but I also agree with others on the board that if it becomes an electronic card that tracks purchases, then it gets a little too distrubing - and there's too much potential for abuse, even if the original intent was benign.
I don't buy the revelations references - but then again, the number on my birth certificate is 666, so maybe I'm in league with the devil. [:D] I'm completely serious - I was born in a city in the Netherlands, and apparently the birth certificates have only 3 digits (I guess no more than 1000 kids are born every day), so the only number on my birth certificate really is 666. Creepy. |

The only National ID I will ever carry is a Federal Concealed Carry License, and it sure as shit better not be a smart card.
Sorry guys, but I've implemented systems similar to this for the Fortune 100 company I used to work for. They could get so granular as to tell you who went to what bathroom when you were in their buliding with an ID card. All the access control and surveilance equipment was tied together. One thing most people don't realize is that most of those ID badges are smart cards. Taking what they and other companies have implemented to a larger scale inside society and adding the ability to track purchases it would not be hard to track even the most benign of us. We already have cameras and face recognition software looking for "criminals" in Florida. We've already seen US prisons implementing a credit system where you remove cash money from the inmates and they only have credits off a debit card so as to remove the ability of the inmates to buy contraband from other inmates. Now all they need to do is remove the need for actual currency, which most of us city folks are used to with our ATM/Credit combo cards. Oracle has already said they'll provide the relational database software and expertise to store all the records. All the pieces of tracking each and every individual person are there. How long until these concepts are applied to te population? The technology and precendents already exist. It is only a matter of time before it's done for our own "safety." God Bless Texas |
