About 10 years ago i bought a lorcin 9. It was a piece of crap and never worked right. icked me off so much that i decided to start collecting decent guns and started saving up money for them. I got:

M1903 Springfield
M1917 Winchester
M1 Garand (SA)
M1 Carbine (IBM,PM)
M1A Springfield Armory
M98 .270 sporter mauser
M1911A1 Springfield armory (loaded)
HK USP 45 w/light
Glock 17 w/light
Walther PPK
Eagle arms preban ar15
**(BM M4 barrel, KAC RIS, Surefire, Holosite,  ARMS flip rear)
Mossberg 590
Winchester 1400
......
and one piece of junk Lorcin 9 (did i mention it was nickel plated?)

So where do i go from here? What should i get next? what would make a good addition to the collection?

Did  you forget where you are? How about a AR-15. Just not a Calvery Arms.

Lorcin actually makes a great tackle box gun.If you ever need a heavy weight, for say a trot line.

Opps, just saw you have a Eagle Arms AR. How about a Mauser K98?

By all means don't forget your "roots". A Hi Point 9mm carbine, a Davis derringer, and a Bryco 380 would all be fine additions to any man's collection..

i've been reading posts here for a while and just got around to posting for a change.

Mauser, the first preban ar i could was an eagle arms. it worked beautifully, never failed once. i tricked it out with the accessories/barrel/style that everyone seemed to be recommending at the time. as far as the collection is concerned, there have been other guns in it. I had:
a steyr aug(wasn't a good one)
a romanian ak (front site was canted)
an IMI jericho (shot to high to fix with new sites)
a bushy postban(traded toward the preban eagle)
a bushy m17s (good,but not good enough)
and several hk rifles (too damn loud, had problems with one, and they're kinda dull)

been wanting to get:

a M1 thompson, a GI 1911, and a DSA FAL
almost done saving up for them now.

but after that, what's left?

"a steyr aug(wasn't a good one)"

SteyrAUG--is that you playing with us?

Why were the HK rifles "too damn loud"?  Most of the HK's are no louder than comparable guns in the same caliber.

If you are serious, I'd second the .50BMG suggestion, or go straight to a full auto--you can still find converted AR-15's for $4500, or the Vector UZI for $3000.

What do you have against Cavalry Arms? My CAV-15 is outstanding, one of the best values out there.

as far as the steyr was concerned...it was used and my guess is someone tinkered with it. it would double on occasion and the barrel lockup was loose. as for the hk's, id on't know the .223 and .308 sounded a heck of a lot louder than the m1a and ar15, the 9mm was used and probably worn out, accuracy wasn't so hot and it caught shell casing a lot.

as far as a 50 cal....that's a cool idea, been looking at the armalite 50, maybe ought to get it.

and i have .22 conversions for the 1911 and ar15...they work good and i don't feel like getting a dedicated 22 because they're kinda dull after pluggin away with the others.

has anyone recieved an ar-180b yet? been thinking of gettin one of them too. was also thinking of getting a cavalry arms lower and a pro-ord ar upper unless cav makes a polymer upper.

thanks,

BTW: i was a cav trooper in G trp 2/3 armored cav regiment. does that get me a discount there?

Have to go with an FAL, DSA makes the best one
on the market. If you haven't shot one you don't now what your missing. Puts crappy a** CETME's made by CIA or CAI or whatever their damn name is to shame. I got stuck with a CIA GARAND that wasn't good for anything except a boat anchor. I quickly dumped that POS to some other unlucky victim. No need to buy a poodle poppin' mouse gun like an AR. Remember, that which is cover for a 5.56mm is only concealment for 7.62mm.

I think you'r do for a FAL, i was tempted by a CTEME for awhile do to price and cheap mags now but the availability of spares, ergonomics, and the fact it was made by Century got in the way. The FAL is 10x the rifle and is a dream to use/enjoy. Go to FNFAL.com and read up.

OK guys, sorry about that.  My smart-assed son used my account to say bad things about ARs, which I happen to own and believe in.  For his indiscretion, I have banned him from using my account any more.  Now he'll have to go it alone.
Stick with the AR...it is still the best combat rifle in the world.
