I did not see his show last night but heard that he called the U.S. Gov. cowards and the hijackers warriors. I hope ABC and Bill Mahr catch holy living hell if this is what he said. [50]

ACTUAL TRANSCRIPT FROM P.I. Warning: You will be sick after reading this. Dinesh: Bill, there's another piece of political correctness I want to mention. And, although I think Bush has been doing a great job, one of the themes we hear constantly is that the people who did this are cowards. Bill: Not true. Dinesh: Not true. Look at what they did. First of all, you have a whole bunch of guys who are willing to give their life. None of 'em backed out. All of them slammed themselves into pieces of concrete. Bill: Exactly. Dinesh: These are warriors. And we have to realize that the principles of our way of life are in conflict with people in the world. And so -- I mean, I'm all for understanding the sociological causes of this, but we should not blame the victim. Americans shouldn't blame themselves because other people want to bomb them. Bill: But also, we should -- we have been the cowards lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly. You're right. Are you sick yet. I am.

First off, I hate Bill Maher, that liberal POS. I'm not defending him, but I think he was saying that Clintons response to Bin Laden had been cowardly, and that we should not underestimate these terrorists. Those who call them crazy or cowardly, are committing the biggest sin of combat. Underestimating your enemy.

Warriors do not kill innocent people, Boycott and email time to ABC
Link Posted: 9/18/2001 10:52:23 AM EDT
The two points Billy makes is that: 1) These terrorists are warriors. 2) We are cowards for having used tomahawks against them. Last time I checked, we didnt replace the cruise missile warhead with an innocent civilian. We dont measure bravery by how many non-combatents we kill. Bills comments are indefenseable.

Well I hate to say it but a-hole bill said one thing that was correct the bastards who actually crashed the aircraft were not cowards, bastards and absolute scum yes, cowards no. Now as to bin laden that is a different story he is a coward who never actually went in harms way for what he is said to believe in but is perfectly willing to ask other people to give up their lives for the “cause”. The fact is that anyone who willingly sacrifices their life for a cause whether or not the cause is just is not a coward, just like the kamikaze who died for their Emperor. As to whether or not a warrior kills the innocent that is debatable since in all wars the innocent are sometimes killed. As to bill maher yes he is a huge pile of pig sh*t and we should drop him on bin laden from 30,000 feet.

I would offer that anyone who so readily would offer to end his life is probably living in squalor and has nothing much to exist for to begin with or has been institutionally {read religion) brainwashed to believe it is courageous to kill civilians in the name of Allah. Either way I would not agree that someone who commits suicide and takes thousands with them as brave. Mentally ill, psychotic or seriously misguided sure, but brave? Never. Personally when I think of the people who have commited suicide that I knew, I was saddened that they did not have the fortitude to work whatever it was that drove them to that out. I have never thought of anyone who commited suicide in any context as brave. The brave stay and fight and enjoy the animating contest of freedom. I hope given the state of people's emotion right now that Maher gets his due. He has been living on borrowed time in my opinion for some time. At the very least I hope the sorry prick has to face someone who lost a loved one last week and say those same things to their face. Tell them how brave they were.

Bill Mahr is the moron's Dennis Miller. Dennis is closer to center than Mahr could ever hope to be. Didn't Henry Rollins and Mahr get into it once? I'd have loved to see Rollins get his hands on him. God Bless Texas

I think what these terrorist did was dishonorable, immoral, evil, and reprehensible. With that said, I also do not think it was cowardly. Honor and bravery are two completely different traits, and can oppose one another such as in this case with the terrorists. It's simple villification, and what these devils did speaks loud enough without it. They called McVeigh a coward too. If what they say really went down like they tell us, it must have took a lot of nerves to carry out what he did. Let me add that I DO NOT SUPPORT HIS CHOICE OF TARGET in any way. It was mostly non-combatants that were killed, and that was wrong. BTW- Brave is Mr. Bennet Jr. aboard flight 93. He was the one on the phone talking to his wife while he helped organized the taking back of the plane.

OK, guys. That is what FREEDOM is about. I cannot stand Bill Maher. I cannot listen to him for 5 minutes w/o wanting to puke all over. BUT, that is the very definition of freedom of speech. My personal opinion is that anyone who does not support the 2d Amendment is basically a traitor to this country, even if it's from ignorance. [B)]

They are warriors?Slashing the throats of little stewardesses and crashing a plane when they have nothing to lose and think they will go to paradise? We are cowards? Those guys that rushed armed terrorist with their bare hands knowing they were going to die with everythihng to lose but felt that the terrorists had to be stopped? Bull flying fuck!We may have gotten soft from doing nothing more strenuos than golf for a few generations but we are still the decendents of the people who kicked the entire world's ass(more than once).Someone need to clip that little faggot. sopmodm4

I would boycott ABC, but I am already boycotting them over Peter Jennings comments about Bush. Might as well tune into the Fox News Channel and throw out the Remote.

Well Bill, your right. Lobbing cruse missiles from 2000 miles away maybe cowardly and certainly did not resolve the issue. Thank God we do not have a cowardly Clinton left over like Gore in office. Maybe this time something will get resolved. Sometimes I wish I could get on his show just to spank the little socialist down.

His show is pretty much Idiots on Parade. Who gives a rats ass about what "B" level celebrities think about politics. Ooooo, Steven Baldwin thinks Bush is harming the environment. Whoopdee fricken dee. I think the show actually makes you stupid just watching it. I did almost leave it on after Nightline last night but figured I would just get pissed so I went to bed. The only time I watch it is if The Nuge is on.

I would argue that these people are cowardly, self-serving assholes. How many of them would willingly die if there was not the added reward of direct ascention to paradise, complete with virgins and all that? If they were asked to die only for their beliefs, without an automatic ride to paradise, I wonder how many would actually sign on the dotted line? They are not dying for their children, family, or for their freedom. They may feel America is the "great satan", however without the free ride to heaven I doubt any of them would show up for the dance.

Federal Express ordered its ads removed from the ABC late-night series Politically Incorrect on Tuesday after the show's host referred to recent U.S. military actions as "cowardly." After receiving complaints from around the country, including Houston, Federal Express reviewed Monday's edition of the show and decided to act, company spokesperson Carla Richards said.

The drivel below is what he thinks allows him to make senseless comments! I emailed ABC's Audience Relations Department at netaudr@abc.com to tell them I wouldn't watch anymore (I seldom did) & that I hope more sponsers like FedEx pull their advertising. From ABC's website [blue]On ABC's Politically Incorrect, producers kept one of the talk show's four guest chairs empty in honor of conservative commentator Barbara Olson, who died in one of the hijacked planes last week. [red](they should just keep the host's chair empty)[/red] Maher: Using Humor to Recover Maher says tragedies like the Oklahoma City bombing have taught him that audiences will tell you through their reactions when they are comfortable with a subject. "I've never gone out there with the quest to be funny," he said. "I go out there with the quest to be honest. "There's a lot of places where exaggeration, sarcasm, belittlement — all tools of humor — are going to come into play as weapons in our arsenal to recover from this," he said. Maher told audiences he was paid for his week off and he's donating the money to the relief effort.[/blue]

It was somewhat interesting when they had the citizen commentators on, but they did away with that real fact once they realized the average Joe made the celebs look like complete idiots.

I did not find his comments offensive in any way. What I do find offensive is how so many so-called "Americans" jumped down his throat for it. I gotta hand it to you, many of you had me fooled until last week. Then I heard all the venemous, irrational and totally misdirected hatred spewing forth. It's gotten so you can't politely disagree with anyone anymore if you happen to be of the opinion that America doesn't at all resemble the land of liberty. What would you prefer we have on tv? 100% propaganda and opinions in line with the state? Is 99.9% not good enough for some of you? It's time to get over the idea that we are somehow special or privileged because we are Americans. This nation has high ideals, but have seldom lived up to those ideals in any way, beginning with the Native Americans and ending the week before last when we rained yet more 500lb. bombs on Iraq for no reason other than that the ordnance was getting old and needed to be used or demilled. Start paying attention to what is really going on, and stop being manipulated by pretty flags and songs designed to evoke emotional (rather than rational) responses. You can only be conquered if allow yourself to be.

Easy there toughguy! Before you move to even higher moral groundings, why don't you watch where you throw those stones. Most of us who were disgusted by maher's comments (and for good reason) could care less whether he's on TV or not. I don't watch the show so I don't give a shit. Most here made our spirited comments about the comedic-wannabe because we DISAGREED with him, not because we think we are "priveleged" or "manipulated by pretty flags" as you allege. It does not take a Ph.D in literary semantics to discern what he was saying; yet you would call us naive and brain-washed simply due to our animated response. So I guess if we had it your way, we'd all be good little surfs and digest whatever the liberal media tries to shove down our throats. Oh, and about the boycotts and letters to sponsors? You have a problem with that too? That's a shame since such behavior is part of what makes this country great. Next time, think before you label members here with such a broad and insulting stroke.

No, I didn't 'hear' Bill Maher say anything, 'cause I don't listen to anything that liberal douchebag has to say about anything! I have heard what he said, 'cause it's on the news! BTW, the terrorists are cowards indeed! It's one thing for Japanese kamikaze pilots to strike at legitimate military targets when it became clear to the Japanese Command that there was simply no more effective way to stop the American military onslaught against their island kingdom! It's a totally different thing that the Sept. 11 terrorists slammed the commercial jetliners into public buildings during peacetime! It would be tantamount to saying that a rapist who was terrorizing the women of a particular city or neighborhood was brave because he didn't use condoms or gloves during his attacks (thereby leaving evidence that could later be used to identify and convict him)! Brave is a word that should be reserved for use in, say, describing the actions of NYC police and firefighters! Eric The(WordsDoHaveMeaningsAfterAll!)Hun[>]:)]
