[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Did Gunny Ermey get hacked?

I went to [url]www.rleeermey.com[/url] to check in this AM, and got a message saying that I was FORBIDDEN.

I don't recall saying anything inflammatory or less than absolutely supportive of our country or our Corps, so I must "assume" (I hate that word) that it's either a cookie problem with my 'puter which I'm trying to correct, or his server has been hacked or an error has been made. If it had been down, I would have just got the "unable to display page" error message.

Could someone please go over there and see if they:
A) get the FORBIDDEN message
or
B) can see if there was another reason for me not having access to the site any longer?

Thanks! I hate being confused, and I need my Gunny Ermey fix... I also want to share the B2-FU pic.

I had no problem accessing it yesterday.

Today, I too get the "Forbidden" message.

Looks like he got hacked.

Got into it with no problem. Maybe it is network traffic or something.

He's running Apache, so stand by: Linux is NOT easy to hack! I still am FORBIDDEN.

I'm just hoping that the admin reset the settings, and didn't notice.

Linux has relatively few remote security problems. But Linux only describes the kernel, and not any of the other components of the distribution, most of which are GNU or GNU-based, except where they are distribution specific. Most Linux systems, sadly to say, are hackable out of the box. But they can be made secure. I've been running Linux since 1994, and things are much better now than they were then. Security has certainly become more of a conern.

However, the frbidden message is just an HTTP error code. They were probably having trouble with the server, and nothing more. It seems the page has changed since the last time I looked at it.
