I have a S&W Airweight 5 shot revolver that is in a factory nickel finish. The nickel is starting to flake and I would like to have some kind of non-reflective teflon finish applied to it. I know you cannot blue alunimum, it must be anodized. Can the cylinder and barrel which are steel be teflon coated as well as the frame? If you know anyone who can do this sort of work, please email me directly. Also what other options are there to having it refinished. Anyone had this sort of work done? [email protected]

It is possible to refinish/plate/coat aluminum framed revolvers.   Two of the considerations that come to mind are:
1) Preserving or regenerating the anodizing (the hardened surface of the aluminum).
2) The problems of coating two or more different substrates to look the same.
The best advice I can give is to contact ROBAR.   http://www.robarguns.com/   Robbie Barrkman and his crew know as much about practical firearm finishes as anyone.
