Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 11.5" barrels firing under full auto selection

I haven't tried this but I am curious how 11.5" barrels hold up under full auto fire? Is the gas system stable or will it warp and die? If this is the case then would 16" be the shorest barrel that full auto will work stable?

Dont worry about hurting your barrel...I own an xm177e2 and a 14.5 inch version ,both  orig full auto babies...i fired 3 30 rounders non stop..didnt do nothing to it except smoke and hot to handle....dont worry about it....

I've put hundreds of full auto rounds through mine with no problems at all.

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure about the short gas tube holding up. Thanks for your replies.
