Your right about Libya. I don't think they were a major player for years after the bombing. I remember when we would swat their jets out of the sky and their air force refused to fly.

Guys, don't come down too hard on France, if it wasn't for them helping Gen. Geo. Washington during the Revolutionary War, we would be fish & chips today.  Gen. Washington was in pretty dire straits.

France has a very large population of arabs (more so all the time). And they've also been victims of terrorist bombings in recent years by Algerians and other arabs. Perhaps at some point they will have had enough and develop some backbone and join us in hitting back. But don't hold your breath.

I am really hoping that the Europeans wake up and join us. We have sacrificed so much for them.

I mean, I remember when we attacked the Libyans. And at some goddamn Nato airbase in the south of Italy the Italian Govt. almost had their troops fire on us! They were not in favor of our retaliation to say the least, and using bases on their soil. They had business with Khadafy that might be disrupted! I think he owned like 1/4 of their state oil company and was it's major supplier or something.
