Hunter, the price for the Sako M92S i mentioned is 1190 USD, with 1 plastic magazine and sling.

Excluding licence and freight costs.

Hunter223, I don't have a pick but would highly suggest the Mak90 series AK. I have experience with these and they are very well made. I have heard the Sar 1,2,3 series rifles have inferior trigger groups but others can give info on that. By inferior I mean the trigger only has one "prong" that catches the hammer during the recoil/hammer reset event. Plus some AK trigger parts are made from poor soft metal. These two conditions can lead to slam fires and broken parts.

The Mak90's have a two "pronged" trigger ad are made of quality metal. I know of many that have withstanded years of abuse without a breakage. Plus the overall fit and finish is very good. Check out [url]http://ak-47.gunsnet.net/vb/index.php[/url] for more info.

Good luck, you will love the AK 47 series rifle.....and after you do get one post about how to use the bump fire method with them. The bump is a poor mans full auto.

And price is usually around $300-350 for a Mak90 in 90% condition with 2 mags.

Here you go Hunter223:

Bulgarian version, made by Arsenal, model SLR95. The current version has a different model number. Also, they make a version of this rifle in the US nowadays. When I bought this one in 1996, I paid $249, but new SLR95's are now selling for over $500. This one has had a US parts kit added to make the standard non-thumbhole stock legal. Also, it has an aftermarket red dot sight and mount that did not come on it from the factory. It has a milled receiver, and a Steyr hammer forged chrome lined barrel.

This rifle is on consignment, then I'll be out of 7.62x39 for good. I like the rifle, hate the cartridge. I replaced them with 5.45 AKs

Bought it in 1992, never shot it yet [:p] I had the real RPK handguard and "club" stock installed, since it's supposed to be an imitation of the RPK with bipods and heavier barrel. Rifle cost was $700 to $800 then, I think I paid too much, but that was before they were banned here so all AW prices went through the roof.

Yugo AK-47 marked gun--I just saw one advertised for $1900. (I would guess fair market value at about $1600+).

Chinese AK-47 marked gun--pre-Norinco import, with Romanian Laminate wood. About $750-800

this ak-74 clone is built on the $239 romanian sar-2. the scope is the russian pso-2 by novosibirsk.

Here is a pic of my MAC-9 in 7.62x39 with Choate stock and 13 mags (12 E.German and 1 Chinese Bakalite). I have another 20 E. German mags put away.

I paid $189 for the rifle and $9 for each mag. That was back in 1989 or 1990. I got the Choate stock for $39 around 1996.

I have fired around 15,000 rounds in this gun and I don't think I ever had a FTF. The Choate stock works greeat and feels much better than the thumbhole stock.

What I'm thinking of is getting the MAK-90 like shaggy has there and doing what omar has done, only with a longer bbl.
I'd like to have a long bbl. plinker with the drum in it...

My question: Can a longer bbl. be installed on the MAK-90?

Chinese Pre-ban Pre-Norinco AK-47 marked gun with Romaninan Laminate Stock. FMV on it is about $750-850.

Yugo American Arms import (before Mitchell Arms). Also marked AK-47 (pre-ban). I just saw someone listing a similar one on one of the boards for $1900.
