Yeah a long time ago I posted about this. I actually melted the handguards off of a 16 inch Oly because of this. Now that HURTS.
Just swap them out for a set from Bushmaster |

The Oly kit I bought in April has heat shields. Apparently, Oly has decided that heat shields are a good thing. On the positive side, this is a good excuse to buy green furniture.

Doesn't "PCR" stand for "Politically Correct Rifle"? You ought to know that it's not PC to own an AR15-type rifle, let alone [b]fire[/b] one - so your handguards should never get hot and therefore never need heat shields.
