The AARP won't like hearing about their members using guns.

Boy, it's a good thing the AARP advocates victim disarmament, or those poor old ladies might have to live with the trauma of having defended themselves and their neighbors from being victimized.

Tongue now removed from cheek, I'm actually pleased that the story included the woman who is taking a handgun course without making some kind of derogatory comment about it.  Of course the woman herself made a derogatory comment, but at least she has the right idea.

Here is a bright spot for you.  My 72-year old mother decided to go on an adventure this summer and visit family in southern CA.  She drove by herself and had a great time.  As always, she went armed with a revolver, which she can still handle decently.  Regarding the CA carry laws, she said: "Screw them.  If they want to arrest an old lady for concealed carry, let them."  The trip was uneventful.  All of us children felt much better that she went armed and had a good laugh at the potential bad guy who would have gotten the surprise of his life.

Interesting how they talk about trimming bushes and getting lights.  Yet, there's no mention of firearms training or arming ones-self.

You know, if I was a home invader I'd be avoiding ANY area that had a large number of scared but armed residents.  Elderly or not, bullets have a way of bringing equality to victims in crime situations...
