Just saw a story on the news... The census reports are in. 1/2% of all American couples are same sex. 6.8% of all couples in San Francisco 5.1% of all couples in Washington DC 4.6% of all couples in NYC and those are the ones who admitted it. At this rate, we all will be gay by the year 2104

OK so you are supposed to be born gay right. Therefore it must be something in your genes that make you gay. So with that in mind, most if these folks will never have kids of their own. That's fine with me. Now of of them are getting smart and doing that invetro thing. [:(] I'm Catholic. That should say where I stand in this matter. Another reason I left CA.

I am sickened by sickening behavior. I don't campaign against them, but when I hear that 1/2% of all the couples in the US are gay, not to mention the higher portions in metro cities, it makes me sick. It's "moral decay".

Exactly Lordtrader. I'm RC also. But I don't think that 50% of all couples are gay. I think gay people and the people who support them are trying to slowly push upon us that being gay is acceptable, especially with the media[V]

They were always with us. I think it is great that they have less fear of getting beaten up or killed. The gay couples I see improve inner cities, do volunteer work, and are much better role models than the "breeders" in the neighborhood.

I can't deny them that. THey are usually sucessful, clean, contributory members of society. My problem lies with 1) Gay proleferation 2) Gays adopting a child With sociatal acceptance of such behavior, it will grow. It isn't a "closet" issue. It's an acceptance one. As far as them adopting a child, well, that is just so wrong on so many levels I can't really begin.

Absolutely. JBR...I agree with you too. I have known some gay people who are very quality people who I would trust more than most straight people I meet. People I would have behind me if the SHTF (well, maybe not behind me [;)]) Not only that, but I would rather have my children listen to them preach acceptance and tolerance than have them listen to people like Confederate talking about "faggots". I'm not gay, but to each his own as long as they don't hurt me or the people I love. Moral decay will not be due to homosexuality, it will be due to the fact that parents no longer want to be parents. They can't be bothered. PS - Confederate...not a flame, I'm just making a point. LOL! You are right though. A lot of these people make such a fuss about the morals (or lack thereof) of other people to try and distract themselves and others from the fact that they see the same things in themselves.

Yeah, that really sucks. But they are enduring that shit because parents and peers are being taught that it is acceptable to give them shit. "Oh yeah, you can make fun of him. It's okay...he doesn't have feelings. He has two mommies and they like to touch each other. Let's ostracize him."

From a biological point of view, if being a homosexual is a genetic defect why hasn't it died out over time since you cannot reproduce? Also, are there any poor gay people?

Bullshit. Intolerance is for people who are afraid of differences in others because they are insecure about themselves or feel threatened due to mental or physical weakness.

gays, lesbos, they don't bother me. what does bother me is the anti-gun undercurrent that seems rampant among their ilk. i work with a lesbo and she doesn't mind other people's ownership, but when i offered to buy her one for her b-day, she said: "no way, never will i be associated with any guns, ever." so i bought her a book instead, entitled "gun women" by two prominent, pro-gun, lesbian researchers/authors, and she said "great, all my friends will ask, WTF is THIS book doing here?" what's that all about???

What I'm saying is that it is counter-productive, unintelligent, and intolerant to treat someone differently because of what they do behind closed doors with another consenting adult. I have a problem with people who can meet someone and have a great time with them but as soon as they find out that person is gay, they want nothing to do with them. I don't know whether it is genetic or not, but I'll let you tell me since you have apparently done extensive scientific research on the matter. EDITED TO ADD: If you don't like the word "intolerance", open up a thesaurus an replace it with any synonym you like.

Homosexuality does not halt reproduction. If homosexuals were sterile, then it probably would over time. I'm not saying it is genetic, I'm simply saying we have thus far been unable to disprove that it is genetic.

Robert Heinlein had the best perspective on it, as far as I'm concerned:
Copulation is spiritual in essence---or it is merely friendly exercise. On second thought, strike out "merely." Copulation is not "merely"---even when it is just a happy pastime for two strangers. But copulation at its spiritual best is so much more than physical coupling that it is different in kind as well as in degree. The saddest feature of homosexuality is not that it is "wrong" or "sinful" or even that it can't lead to progeny---but that it is more difficult to reach through it this spiritual union. Not impossible---but the cards are stacked against it. But---most sorrowfully---many people never achieve spiritual sharing even with the help of male-female advantage; they are condemned to wander through life alone.

Homosexuals have been with us forever, as far as we can tell. Is it genetic? Is it learned behavior? Is it partially both? Who knows? Is it a mental illness? Only in really uptight, strictly religious cultures. I think that argues that the strictly religious have more issues than gays do. I think that if you're offended or disgusted by homosexuals then that says more about YOUR insecurity than their sexuality. Yes, some homosexuals are WAY out there, but then so are some heteros. To lump all of them into a single class because of the behavior of a few is the definition of "stereotyping" and "bigotry". We should know what that's like - we are evil people who own guns and want to see children dead in the streets. Just ask Sara Brady. I'm constantly amazed at people who protest that racism is wrong, but have no problem in hating gays. Then again, human beings are the only creatures on Earth capable of believing three mutually opposing ideas before breakfast.

The issue that stains them is the adoption of children. To approve of that, one has to in essence say "it is OK to raise a child in an enviroment where 2 men have sex with each other"- and in such an enviroment, homosexuality is being "forced" on the child first hand. He has to identify it, and endorse it, because the people feeding him are partaking in it. Intollerence? There has to be a line where we as a society decide cannot be crossed, and don't tollerate things that breach it.

Just one question: If homosexuality is a "conscious choice", could YOU "choose" to be sexually attracted to a man? 'Cause, buddy, I sure as hell can't. In my opinion, then, homosexuality is NOT a "conscious choice", and your assertion is in error.
