Peter Luger's is the greatest Steakhouse on Earth.
The very best dry-aged Porterhouse.

If you think you can get one at your local supermarket and do it better yourself, you're wrong.
If your local butcher or purveyor of prime meats has good dry-aged porterhouse, it will probably cost you about $35-$45 a POUND.

Luger's.

Been there and you're right....just amazing steak.

Don't ask for a filet, they'll look at you like a $3 bill.

The Luger's in Brooklyn looks like a mafia run oasis in the middle of a ghetto neighborhood. Don't expect a romantic walk around the block afterwards unless getting mugged is your idea of romance.

I just came back from visiting relatives in Phoenix, AZ and had a damn fine piece of meat at Rustler's Roost.  Great view of the city lights, too.  And the waitress was HOT!!

Been to the RC in Ft. Lauderdale 3 times with my girl, spent about $150 after tip each time for both of us.

Included, onion soup, NY Strip, 1lb baked potato, soda.

You'll like it, I promise. That sizzling butter will make your heart melt, arteries quiver, and your taste buds orgasm.

ETA: Saw your cop out, I am far from impressed with you.

I'm not sure, but I think I paid extra for silverware and a napkin.

I think they're a tad over rated. The House of Prime Rib in San Fran down the street gave RC the smackdown, and at half price. PLUS (a little known local secret), you can ask for seconds and they'll bring you another 8oz prime rib free of charge. No shit.

Oh, and it was the best prime rib I'd ever had, bar none.

When one of those places cooks their steaks with Dales marinade Ill visit.

I love it when you go to a steakhouse and they serve a steak with steak sauce, you might as well have chicken.

2 things I have learned in life...

Steaks werent made for dipping.

Dales kicks ass.

"Marinade"????

Anyone who "marinates" a piece of dry-aged USDA Prime should be shot.

Marinades are for tough, flavorless cuts of beef.

I've had some really good service and just couple of  bad experiences in different Mortons.

I've always been pleased in a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

Peter Luger was just OK and was ther only twic., I guess they just couldn't live up to it's hype/reputation.

You'll need at least $250.

Once you're up in the Sparks, Palm, Luger's stratosphere, it all becomes personal preference and experience.

I prefer Luger's.

Porterhouse -rare/medium rare
Creamed spinach
German homefries.
Apple Strudel -midt schlagg.

You dont go to Vegas for dinners more than $20/plate unless you're on an expense account.  Find the buffett in the nearest casino and pig out for $10 or so.

Well, I cancelled my reservation.  Talked to my girl and she agreed that it was a waste.  Going to buy a honey baked ham and fry up a turkey and just make a family cookout of it.  Same amount of money we will feed 7 and have leftovers.  Plus, I really like cajun fried turkeys.  Actually prefer both the honey baked ham and the fried turkey over any steak house steak I ever had.  (including some high end steak houses I have been too).  So, the res has been cancelled, the ham has been ordered and the turkey is already in the freezer to be pulled out thursday for frying on saturday.  Gonna grill some corn on the cob and portobello mushrooms, make a big batch of mashed potatoes and a few other things and pig out.

Bad choice.  Live a little.

give the guy a break.

Lugers is really good (especially their sliced tomato/onion Luger sauce app.

But if you are going to Vegas and can't afford The Prime go to the Palm at The Forum Shops.  Third best steakhouse in the world and close to your price range w/o tip.

Portland Ruth's Chris has the same shitty service of Sizzler.

Go to Mortons, Portland Chop House or El Gaucho.

Best steak on planet earth comes from the little restaurant next to the Comfort Inn in Colby, Kansas. I don't know why, I don't know how, but I'll drive five hours out of my way to eat there if I'm even passing through Kansas. I order two filets every time, so I can enjoy one cold the next day.

My opinion, if you're gonna blow the cash on a good steak, go try a higher end steak house in one of the casinos. Eat at Ruths Chris in some other city. For the money, the steak will probably be very similar in quality but at least you'll have a unique experience, not a chain restaurant experience.

I've been to numerous Ruth's Chris steakhouses (including the original at 711 Broad St. in New Orleans), and they're overhyped.  The meat has always been less than stellar, sides have been "okay".  I may give them one more chance here locally one day, but I don't have high hopes.

Morton's (for a chain) is far better.

+1 on both the hype and inevitable dissapointment.

+1 on Morton's.

BTW    El Gaucho in Seattle is EXCELLENT.
