really?  can you give me an example of where the price has gone up?

it makes sense though, prices for all metals have gone up these past few years, including copper etc.

PLENTY of 9mm out there. There is NO shortage of 9mm at all. The prices DID go up a bit but it is still priced reasonably. If you buy in lots of 1000 it is pretty decent.

I bought craploads last year when Cabalas had a huge sale on. Bought an entire cart full of 9mm and .45. Now I just buy lead 147s for my 9mm AR. A bit smoky but scarily accurate down range. $100 per 1000.

9mm drying up? Really? The price may go up but I don't think we'll have a shortage. It's not like 7.62x39 or 5.45x39 were there are only 1 or 2 sources.

Good grief, there is no shortage of 9mm, .223, .308, .45ACP,...............

The only ammo I have had trouble getting my hands on is 7.62x39.

I Yi Yi, somebody shoot me...............(Not with a 9MM,  can't find any)

If you make a statement like "9MM is running dry", you had better have something, at least one incident to support your panic inducing statement.

I was at Sportsmans Warehouse day before yesterday and they had tons of 9mm.  I went to get .380 and they were out of all but one or two brands.  But they had tons of .32, 9mm, 40, .45, 5.56, .308, etc, etc.  If there's a 9mm shortage it ain't at SW.

Combination fo spring weather....people out shooting, and GAS PRICES going up.

Ammo is heavy, shipping prices are going up, and being reflected in the cost of many things.

Just an idea... I don't really know cause I have not seen a 9mm shortage yet.

I do not understand how you guys shoot as much as you do without reloading.

Any of you that shoot more than 5k rounds a year need to seriously look at getting a Dillon 650. If you shoot more than 10k a year you seriously need to look at getting a 1050 and some bullet casting/swaging equipment.

The money you save will pay for the upkeep on your guns and buy some new toys to boot.

9mm is drying up because of  the influx of women and pansies into shooting.

Oh yeah??   Just try to find some .222 Rem Mag..    I haven't seen any on the shelves - ANY shelves -  in over 20 years.  And yes, I have a rifle that would shoot it if I could get it. If I want any, I have to load it myself (and likely will one of these days).

There may be shortages on particular brands of 9mm ammo, but I sincerely doubt there is a nation-wide shortage of 9mm ammo. I never have trouble finding any.

Sort of the same thing you see with .223 ammo: Specific types are hard to get (XM193, Q131A, etc...) but other types of .223 ammo that aren't gobbled up by ammo-whoring AR15 members are in plentiful supply.

Geeze, the economy is doing well, people have more money.  I know I am making a helluva lot more than I did a few years ago so I can afford to buy a case of ammo every 21 days or so.  A lot of people can do better than that.  When the price is low, people will stockpile and horde, once the price hits a certain level people will only buy what they need causing a surplus and the price to go back down.
