i have noticed that all the 9mm ammo is starting to go up in price and that a lot of dealers are having a hard time getting it in to fill orders.
better stock up now while you can |

OH THE NOES!!!!!111!!!! PEAK AMMO HITS AGAIN!!!!!!!!
IBTPACT (In before the Peak Ammo Chart Thingy) |
really? can you give me an example of where the price has gone up?
it makes sense though, prices for all metals have gone up these past few years, including copper etc. |
I'm seeing stacks of it at gun shops and even Wally World. Ammo isn't drying up. Geez.
I HEARD CHINA IS BUYING IT ALL |
PLENTY of 9mm out there. There is NO shortage of 9mm at all. The prices DID go up a bit but it is still priced reasonably. If you buy in lots of 1000 it is pretty decent.
I bought craploads last year when Cabalas had a huge sale on. Bought an entire cart full of 9mm and .45. Now I just buy lead 147s for my 9mm AR. A bit smoky but scarily accurate down range. $100 per 1000. |
9mm drying up? Really? The price may go up but I don't think we'll have a shortage. It's not like 7.62x39 or 5.45x39 were there are only 1 or 2 sources.
The people at Academy don't even blink anymore when I ask for a case of Blazer 9mm. Just bought a case three days ago.

[chicken little]the sky is falling, the sky is falling[/chicken little]
Good grief, there is no shortage of 9mm, .223, .308, .45ACP,............... The only ammo I have had trouble getting my hands on is 7.62x39. |
Perhaps at yor Wal Mart, not mine. |
No guys, he's right. The 9mm around me is disappearing fast. I should know, I'm the one making it disappear buying it all.
not until .45ACP is added |
I Yi Yi, somebody shoot me...............(Not with a 9MM, can't find any) If you make a statement like "9MM is running dry", you had better have something, at least one incident to support your panic inducing statement. |
awwww. for fucks sake..... could not have anything to do with spring geting here and simple demand?

I was at Sportsmans Warehouse day before yesterday and they had tons of 9mm. I went to get .380 and they were out of all but one or two brands. But they had tons of .32, 9mm, 40, .45, 5.56, .308, etc, etc. If there's a 9mm shortage it ain't at SW.
What LARRYG said! Where the hell do you people come up with this shit? Are you a shill for some ammo dealer? |
Well it's a cryin' shame when the ammo's running dry
All the boys are in the boozer and they're just about to cry We're off the find a Dillon 'fore our barrels get all rusty It's a Friday's winter's evenin' in the heart of Chesterfield county |
Well now , I guess it's good a good thing that I just picked up
5000 rds of Israeli made NATO 124gr ball ammo . On second thought I'd better go back and pick up 10 more cases , because they only had 150,000 rounds left |
you probably sell ammo and are trying to get everyone to buy as much as possible so you can raise the prices.
Combination fo spring weather....people out shooting, and GAS PRICES going up.
Ammo is heavy, shipping prices are going up, and being reflected in the cost of many things. Just an idea... I don't really know cause I have not seen a 9mm shortage yet. No Expert |
Just because the price is going up does not mean there is a shortage.
You guys don't know anything about ammo shortages until you try to buy .303 Savage ammo.
Am I the only person here that realizes the original poster is just fucking with your heads?
IT'S A JOKE FOLKS! He's making fun of all the ammo hoarders on this board that make life difficult for the rest of us. |
I heard that all the 9mm ammo was locked in an ARFcom thread for violating a CoC rule....
Well no shit, sherlock. Prices DID pop up just a bit lately tho. Not by much tho. |
There is another thread saying BBs are drying up, WTF, is everyone smoking tonight, sounds like some serious paranoia going on?
No, I was just about to point that out and add that BTW, .22lr is drying up too. |
I do not understand how you guys shoot as much as you do without reloading.
Any of you that shoot more than 5k rounds a year need to seriously look at getting a Dillon 650. If you shoot more than 10k a year you seriously need to look at getting a 1050 and some bullet casting/swaging equipment. The money you save will pay for the upkeep on your guns and buy some new toys to boot. |
That's nothing... I was just in wal-mart and BBs are going for $250 a thousand!!!!!(eleventyone)! |
How about .351SL now that's a shortage or the John Wayne ammo in 32-40 made in 1981 now that's a shortage |
9mm is drying up because of the influx of women and pansies into shooting.
SG |
You guys quit messing around. Ammo IS really drying up.
Have you tried getting any 8mm Nambu lately? It's a bitch! Serious shortage going on..... |
Oh yeah?? Just try to find some .222 Rem Mag.. I haven't seen any on the shelves - ANY shelves - in over 20 years. And yes, I have a rifle that would shoot it if I could get it. If I want any, I have to load it myself (and likely will one of these days). |

There may be shortages on particular brands of 9mm ammo, but I sincerely doubt there is a nation-wide shortage of 9mm ammo. I never have trouble finding any. Sort of the same thing you see with .223 ammo: Specific types are hard to get (XM193, Q131A, etc...) but other types of .223 ammo that aren't gobbled up by ammo-whoring AR15 members are in plentiful supply. |
Geeze, the economy is doing well, people have more money. I know I am making a helluva lot more than I did a few years ago so I can afford to buy a case of ammo every 21 days or so. A lot of people can do better than that. When the price is low, people will stockpile and horde, once the price hits a certain level people will only buy what they need causing a surplus and the price to go back down.
<---------- Looking forward to buying cheap unwanted 9mm uppers in EE when the ammo dries up
