Graduating from Boot Camp was one of the proudest moments of my life.

when i met one of my ex's who was technically my high school sweet heart. she changed my life at the time.

I can't think of one specific day... but there was the day I bought my '86 Grand National, the day I first shot an NFA toy, the day I finished building my AR-15, the day I drank my first, second, third, forth and fifth beer... it's too hard to narrow it down to one specific day.

Oh wait... no, it's not... the day I left Bellevue, Washington (Seattle suburb) and moved to Ohio. Hands down, best day of my life... though, it took me a couple weeks before I realized it.

the day i got called and told i was accepted to pilot school
Link Posted: 4/6/2006 5:12:28 PM EDT
The day I realized that I WAS worth it, and that I had been allowing myself to be a doormat in my own home. It is the day I heard the voice of God. I've not been the same since. Not necessarily better, but definitely different.

I guess no other day has turned my life around so quickly. Not even the day my first daughter was born affected me as much.

Second best day was when I bought my boat

Best day was when I sold it

So far? I dunno. When I found out I got accepted to my choice school (coincidentally, about 2 hours away from my crazy family, close enough for me to visit once in a while but far enough I don't have to constantly put up with their shit), I guess.

When my Daughter was born...

Why? Because...

It's given me more purpose and helped me to grow up.
It's made me appreciate the things in life that matter the most.

Then again, this is before buying her a car, paying for college...or dealing with failed boyfriends (hopefully not marriages).

I may be eating these words later.

A couple:

I recall graduating MCRD was a high point. 12/23/1988
My family didnt make it out there but I was on cloud nine.

Returning from GW1 in 4/18/1991
Never thought the mundane process of a plane landing (on US soil) would make me emotional.

My first child (son) being born in 6/7/2001
Speechless.

Second child (daughter) being born in 5/15/2003.
Informed my wife she wasn't the only important woman in my life after that.

If the Judeo-Christian god would talk to me, I would instantly believe.

Because that was be awesome, to hear a voice out of nowhere and not be crazy

Mortals are not supposed to be able to hear the voice of God, and survive.

Best three days of my life, no particular order

8-6-94 married my wife
7-6-98 first son born
6-21-01 second son born
Link Posted: 4/6/2006 5:45:17 PM EDT
I didn't expect my first child. I was literally terrified when my wife (girlfriend at the time) told me she was pregnant.

But I know now that that day was the greatest in my life. Everything good in my life since has come from that little "mistake".

Turns out it wasn't a mistake at all. It was God taking the reins for a minute and setting me on the path. He does that for me, every once in a while. Thanks, Big G!!!

No silly, it's "see God's glory and survive."

I could say my wedding day or when my kids were born but if it wasn't for December 16th, 1982, those events may have been much different. That's the day I graduated from Marine Corps bootcamp at Parris Island. It may sound trite, but I arrived there very insecure, without self confidence and with no direction in my life. I grew up without any encouragement to succeed and with very little guidence. On that day, I realized that I could succeed at anything that I wanted to do. And I've done pretty well considering the opportunities that have come my way.

Maybe not the best day but certainly one of the most important.

Hard to narrow it to just one.
I am going to eliminate the obvious ones---day I lost my virginity, wedding day, birth of son and daughter, day I graduated college, etc...---because they are too, well...obvious.
So aside from those...I am going to have to say July 4, 1986. It was the first and only family reunion for our extended clan, timed to be also a few-weeks late celebration of my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. We gathered, all 30 or so of us, at a resort near Table Rock State Park in South Carolina. After a barbecue lunch, the men of the family (except for my dad, who was in his late 60s and too old for it) decided to hike to the top of Table Rock.
It was awesome. I had never been hiking before, never been in the mountains. Standing up there on the edge, watching a hawk fly beneath us, was breathtaking. We had neglected to bring any water, so on the way down I drank from a stream that was running shallow over some rocks and it was the best water I'd ever tasted...or ever have, to this day.

i used to date this girl back in the day. we were an amazing team. evertyhing was pretty much solid gold when we were together. it's hard to pick just one, but it could have been any of those days.

unfortunately, she was also the cause of most of the worst days of my life...

It's a tie between;

* getting married
* the day each of my 4 kids being born
* signing a contract in the NFL
* Seeing bigfoot
* Each of the 2 deer I got with my bow
* Each Christmas when I get a gun from my wife
* that time my wife dressed up in the brittany outfit when I'd been away for awhile and.......

there's a few more but these are the ones I remember.

Honestly, when I met my fiance, the one true ray of light in my life. I'd do anything for her, I never thought I'd meet such an amazing person this young in my life.

If I've had a "best day" I don't remember it. There have been some significant events (college graduation, marriage, birth of first child), but I can't honestly say any of those events were the best day of my life.
