Which do you prefer, getting away by yourself or going with a partner or group?

Just curious,
Scott

I prefer to shoot by myself, but I prefer to compete with company.

I enjoy shooting by myself from time to time, but I also enjoy shooting IDPA with my shooting buddy Cold.

+1. With or without I'm good.

I believe in shooting buddy system. Cover my back

Besides, it gets competitive, which is always good.

Partner.
Just in case something happens, kaboom, ricochet, bear attack, alien landing, we can look out for each other.

If it's not Mrs Goon
or Goon Jrs....

I'd rather be by myself.

I'm solitary by nature, though.

When I shoot alone I prefer to be by myself.
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 4:46:35 PM EDT
I'd rather shoot on a girl's face instead of my own.

So, I choose, prefer to shoot on company.
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 4:47:10 PM EDT
I prefer to shoot with others that are less experienced to make me look like I'm a great shot.
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 4:55:29 PM EDT
I enjoy both.

Alone for me. Unfortunately, some range-rover will come over and try to latch on to me and start telling me how he fought off 150 chinese in korea with only 2 rounds left in his M1 carbine (if that is what I am shooting that day)
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 5:19:28 PM EDT
Alone, no witnesses, that way I can lie about how good I am.

Both

Plinking, friends
Training, alone.
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 5:40:15 PM EDT
Today I had the range all to myself. AR and Garand. It was a nice day!
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 5:47:18 PM EDT
i'm with the 'whatever' contingent.

as long as i get a chance to go sometime...
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 6:25:23 PM EDT
Some days on my own, but I like shooting with my range buddy and taking out my friends who don't own any guns
Link Posted: 4/5/2006 6:37:35 PM EDT
I enjoy shooting alone, I can more properly focus on shooting to get better.

I will always jump at the opportunity to take a non-gun owner or new shooter in hopes of teaching them the love of the sport.

Shooting with friends and relatives is very fun and relaxing as well.

alone mostly, but also like to train with an instructor.

Sounds like my sex life.

shooting buddy.

Two and three are company. Beyond that is a party.
Link Posted: 4/6/2006 1:01:19 AM EDT
I never shoot alone just incase something unforseen happens. It is either my best friend or a new shooter. Expanding the hobby one shooter at a time.
Link Posted: 4/6/2006 1:02:10 AM EDT
Oh, I'm all about shooting buddies.

Sighting something in for the first time or getting familar with a new weapon...I prefer to be alone...don't like to feel like I'm having to hurry or having someone looking over my shoulder for that kind of stuff.

Precision rifle practice, I like to be by myself or just one buddy. We act as each other's spotter.

Blasting with the semi-auto's or pistols...gotta have a buddy or two...

Damn, I'm jonesin' to go to the range...I haven't been in nearly a year...

28 days and counting...

First off, to Steve-oh, your lady friend has been blessed with a killer ass.

Back on topic, I like to go with whoever will go with me, whether be people who have never shot before or old shooting buddies.
Link Posted: 4/6/2006 3:05:49 PM EDT
That picture from steve-oh is but one of his many shooting "partners". Heck, the only person I'd really like to go shooting with is my wife but she's a penny pincher and counts the dollar signs as each round is fired and that's when I can get her to go.

I prefer going alone since I usually go having something in mind that I want/need to do/practice. I like taking friends who aren't "gun" people but I always feel like I'm "running the show" and would like it to be a little more informal.

When I go with other gun people, it's "what do you want to do?"

"I don't know, whatever you want to do?"

"Okay, whatever you want to do is fine."

And this ends up going on ad infinitum until I'd wished I'd have kept my mouth shut and just gone by myself. Perhaps I have a bad attitude or am anti-social, but man is being alone nice.

In general, I prefer to be by myself.
Link Posted: 4/6/2006 9:32:43 PM EDT
Mostly by myself and family, if with an informal group of unknowns I end up paying more attention to who might be getting ready to accidentally shoot somebody. I didn't mind shooting with my CAS club because they had a lot of people inculcated with the safety first ethic.

I've just seen way too many problems with yahoos in informal situations over the years. And a few problems with people whe were supposed to be trained and competent.

I prefer alone
Link Posted: 4/6/2006 9:38:17 PM EDT
I prefer to shoot with my best friend or my father. When I shoot alone I get bored after about 45 min.
Link Posted: 4/7/2006 12:12:08 AM EDT
I usually/prefer to shoot alone.

However bringing a friend can be a blast sometimes. We just run out of ammo too fast if there's only one person. Drawback is that they end up shooting MY guns and MY ammo. I ought to start charging THEM.

I am a social shooter, I will shoot with people or alone

But nicely done, sir.

I usually shoot alone. Just open the door and step out side. I make sure the kids are inside. Sometimes the chickens and ducks block my targets. The goats and donkey usually go to their shed at first round. My tarket is 200 yards away from the front door. Some times I am too lazy to put on pair of pants Living in the country on your 110 acres is good
