Best way to stop terrorism is to find the root cause.
1) Immigrants should not be treated like 2nd class citizens. Either let them have full rights, or don't let them in at all.

2) Don't interfere in internal politics of regions we don't understand. Both sides have blood on their hands in all of these ancient disputes. No reason for us to even get involved.

3) Islam, as practiced as it is in the Middle East, is incompatible with modern society. Praying 5 times a day and all that, keeps people in a state of religious fervor. It's harmful.

You are mistaken. The best way to stop terrorists is to eliminate the terrorists and continue to do so until there are not any more left. The choice is really theirs. I think we have to distinguish also, between interrogation of individuals in order to gain information that will save lives and torture for sadistic reasons with no purpose other than to make someone hurt as much as possible before killing them. I don't for a second agree that US troops torture anybody. If all he is referring to is Abu Gharib, then that's painting with a somewhat broad brush, don't we think?
