He used to be Secretary General of the USSR and he only gets that? What a loser.

Are you enjoying life?
Yes, but there are some difficulties. Traveling is physically hard. And my [government] pension is only 40,000 rubles a month

yeah, but is $1400 in Russia the same as $1400 where YOU live? Not likely.

Good point. But I think Gorby lives in San Francisco these days (seriously). Some UN environmentalist foundation, I believe.

thats his OFFICIAL pension, he asks a few hundred thousand for a lecture so no money problems for that guy. Also he owns some type of consultancy firm in The Haque, Netherlands.

You are forgetting about all those Swiss bank accounts. The guy was a leader of one of the most corrupt governments in the world. Don't you think he skimmed a little?

Russia is among the richest countries in transition -- its gross national income is $2,600 per person per year, compared to $970 in Ukraine, or $250 in Afghanistan. Gorby's $1400 per month in pension is six and a half times what his countrymen make as working class stiffs.

Our "Looty" is really Looty "lite". These guys always looked out for #1, you can be sure. If I seeing him diving into a dumpster I'll let you know.

$1400. USD is $38,788 roubles which is pretty good for him. It's still not great compared to what retirees get here.
