I've always felt a little weird about buying Wolf.  With recent political revelations about their assisting Iraq with intelligence on US plans, I'm feeling weirder.

My local Walmart also jacked up the price from $7.77 to $9.77 or something close to that. I had purchased 5 boxes at the old prices just last month. Screw em, I'll just keep shooting the Wolf ammo my rifle already loves.

regards,

Luis

Nope. There are several threads under AR-15 Ammunition concerning this price increase. Our Walmarts went up about 3 weeks ago. Sorry to say, that seems to be their new price. Too bad, the 40 count 55gr. for $7.73 was a sweet deal.

Negative.  The 45 gr. varmint 40 round packs were over $14 a box.  No 55 gr. on the shelves, and the empty slot where it should've been read $9.98 where it used to read $7.73.

Believe me I had to look about 10X before I believed my eyes.

Yes, WWB went up, but they also have Remington UMC (green box) at $3.99/20.  That is only about $0.25/40 more than WWB.  Personally, I'd rather shoot Wolf at half these prices.

DAMMIT!!  I did a search, but spelled Wal-Mart like this, with the hyphen.  The other topic author spelled it like this Walmart.

This increase makes WWB .233 cost 26.7 cents per round with tax. Guatemalan surplus 5.56 cost me 19 cents a round delivered.

They didn't do anything that Rep. Jim McDermitt or Sen. Patti Murray didn't do.

It’s been discussed several times over at the ammunition forum and yes it is real. As I recall it was a Winchester decision, not Wal-Mart. Winchester is having to put more resources into supplying the military. But, I think Wal-Mart is going to stock some Remington .223 at just under $4.00 per 20 soon.

Napoleon, it is the regular WWB NON-varmint .55 grain rounds. We have had a few discussions on this in the ammo forum. WWB 55gr is now 9.98/box. The varmint rounds are still in the $13-14 range. They also increased the price on .40 and .45 by about $1.

It was a nationwide increase by WINCHESTER...not walmart.

But...if you can find it....The remington green box .223 is still 3.98/20 so that would make 7.96/40. Which is only 18cents more than WWB used to be. Although the WWB is better ammo.
