I am trying to figure this out.  On my mothers side of the family, my grandpa lived to 91, while my uncle (mom's brother) has heart disease in his 50s.

Both are (was) fit, neither were overweight or smoked, similar diets and activity level.  The only difference I see is that the uncle is very religous and doesn't drink at all.  The grandpa drank wine.  Could the wine be the difference in this case, or would it be something else?  Why such a difference in health with such close genetics.  My grandma lived to 88, and was generally healthy.  She had some arterial problems at the end, but that seems pretty common at that age.   Any opinions?

Could be anything from enviroment to luck to a virus to genetics from your grandmother.

If we could figure it out, we would be some rich mofo's.
