Chevy Colorado - AR15.COM

I have been seeing more and more of these trucks around here. I like the styling but I don't know much about them. Does anyone here have one? What kind of reputation do they have?

I've had one for 13 months. Almost 14,000 miles. Plain-Jane 4-cyl, 5-speed. No problems.

no help here,i looked at them and just could not get past the 5 cylinders.didn't seem right.

In before the Toyota is better club cause they provide hourly jobs to americans even though the profits go straight to asia.

A good friend of mine drove an S10 for many years and loved it. It was stolen so he bought a Colorado. He loves it more than the S10. That was recovered, unharmed, just a couple hours after he signed the papers for the Colorado. He kept the Colorado and sold the S10

Brother's got one,only bad thing on his, was the speedometer, it must be too small to read,as he got two tickets coming up to the KY for a visit. 5 cyl is quick!

Ive got the GMC Canyon...04 with close to 44k on her. LOVE that truck. 5cyl moves well and gets about 21mpg.

I was looking at one to replace my Dakota. Kinda bothers me that the 5 cyl only gets about 1 to 2 MPG better than my 4.7L V-8.

Don't underestimate the 2.8l 4-cylinder. Unless you're doing off-roading or hauling heavy stuff, it's a strong engine that gets between 25-28 mpg on the highway. I've had 700+ lbs. in the back of mine, and the engine didn't even act like the weight was there. (The brakes did, though.)

Frame is MUCH improved over the S-10 series. Still has way to much NVH for a new vehicle, regardless of it being a pickup. They said they did not have the room for the 6 cyl version [same engine structure as the 5 and 4 cyl]. Big mistake if you ask me. 5s are inherently unbalanced and a 2.8 4 is to big to be smooth regardless of architecture.

Still a improvement over the S series which was a dated design penned in the late 70s,early 80s. Still no match for the japenese small trucks tho, as much as it pains me to say it.

I have an 05 with 35k miles. 5 cyl. with 5 speed. No problems and it is quick and good on milage. There is more room in the cab than some of the full size trucks. This is the first truck I have owned where I didn't have to put the seat all the way back. I like it and it is a lot chaper then the Toyota.

Buy the best truck you can afford and let the free market work out the rest.
