If you're wanting something that will penetrate a level II vest get a 357sig.

Do you really need a .22 Magnum?

How many .22 magnums make Fienswine and Sarah Brady toss and turn in their sleep at night?

All of them! (do it for the children)

357 SIG is great but isn't ammo just as expensive as 5.7x28? It looks like 357 SIG is about 28cents a round. That's just under the 30c-35c/rd for 5.7x28 (normal prices).

Do NOT get the Five-seveN because liberals hate it, and the "overglorified 22 WMR" cartridge that it fires.

OK I'm over my craving for the five seven--for now. Mrs rick16 thanks everybody for their negative comments discouraging me from this gun. Actually it was the high cost and avail. of the ammo that convinced me. I did see a Browning High Power......hy.gif

No, the .357 Sig generally is about $12-15/box, while the 5.7 is closer to $20-22/box.  5.7 is in high demand, and so long as it is you'll be hard pressed to find a box of 50 for less than $20.  Normal prices.

Can't go wrong with a HP.  I just got a 9mm Mk III a few days ago and I'm loving it.

Well damn. I must have been hallucinating when I ordered boxes of 5.7x28 JHP for less than $16/box.

I did see bulk 357 SIG for about 28c/rd (lowest I could find within 30 seconds on the internet). The prices are comparable, but 357 SIG is more available for now.

I wouldn't be too worried about 5.7 ammo availability and price later in 2006 and 2007. Right now, most people don't even have the PS90 and they're buying $3000+ worth of mags and ammo. The Five-seveN is out NOW, along with the mags. Just pick up some ammo as it becomes available. All you need is 15-20 rd in a mag for CCW or home defense.

When a few more big ammo makers see the demand for 5.7, and how cheap it is to make, they'll jump on board.

The first time I saw one of the FN Five Seven it was in a gun shop were it was being taunted as being able to shoot thru body armor.  I picked it up and looked it over and saw the price tag and the ammo and its price.   Since I have a S&W 500 mag ammo prices do not scare me if I want something.  What I have learned thru the years is research something new before you buy it.  I went home and pulled up the FN on the internet and checked out the Five Seven.  It offered me nothing I needed.  Who has a hobby of  collecting things we need though?  I still passed.

Wow! $16/ box?  Makes me want a Five seveN even more...
I was talking about the prices in the local gunshop, they had a box of 50 for $21.95, but damn! That's a steal!  I'm shopping on the internet for ammo more often!
