I got two pair of combat boots while in the Marines from '77-'81. One pair I have worn off and on for the last 26 years. THEY are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn.

The other pair still look like the inspection boots I used them for! It wouldn't take but a few minutes work to raise a good Marine spit shine, but they are barely broken in.

These are the ones with the chevron sole, IIRC. They are outstanding field boots! They feel as light as a feather, and will wear forever. The speed-lace boots are ok, but they don't come close to those.

i just got my second pair of doc martens and boy are they comftorble, so much so that i just ordered another pair for backup. my first pair of docs were steel toe and they were every bit as comfy as a good pair of non-steel. im definatly sold on docs and i think they will be the only brand i ever buy ever again (the beer is talking), too bad their not made in england anymore but CHINA !!!!!

No 1/2 sizes WTF!!!  Id buy nothing but Doc's but they are too lazy to make 1/2 sizes.  And wouldnt you know it, Im right between sizes, so neither one will fit worth a dam.  Even $5 plastic shoes from China are made in 1/2 sizes.  Dumbest thing Ive ever heard of.

I'm rather fond of my new Doc Martins.  I don't have much experience with boots otherwise aside from my full-leather combat boots and jungle boots (both of which leave quite a bit to be desired in the comfort dept).

I bought a pair of georgia boots last week. They are water proof leather boots and are reasonably comfortable...but it looks like they are already coming apart. I wanted some redwing boots but they didnt have anything over size 12 and i needed a 14.

My USMC issue jungle boots after a deployment to Iraq.  Lightweight, tough, and molded to my feet.  I was sad when we switched to the tan boots because my black ones were so comfortable!

Jungle boots with Tiger Shark Vibram Sole Tread!
I did the Nijmegen March in them and were ran in formation with rucks and came in first place beating the next nearest team by 2 hours.
My feet were comfy.
