The GOGO'S Our Lips Are Sealed! Am I really that old? Sheeesh.
I Kinda know how you feel. I have been hearing songs I grew up with on the local "Classics" station
As in you're a spelling Nazi? |
No, your spelling sucks. |
You just now figured that out? |
Tell me it ain't so! Belinda Carlisle? On an oldies station? The world will come crashing down any minute. She can't be old enough for that! Neither can I! Jim |
Hey!!!!! Cut the old geezer some slack. |
What's a "GoGo'?
One of these days Stone Temple Pilots and Metallica will be oldies... |
Ok, now its Adam Ant. WTF is going on here |
damn, I'm getting old |
That song came out 25 years ago, you old fart. |
I stopped giving a shit about "popular" music not too long after MTV stopped being about MUSIC (late 80's or so) so I'm right there with you. |
That's nothing. They don't even play the music I grew-up with on the radio any longer.z
I hear Mozart on the radio all the time |
They changed formats a few years back, used to be hits of the 50's and 60's which I really like from time to time to hits of the 60's and 70's which I like about 70% of the time. (F disco) I think it is a national station its called cool 108 where I live. Seems that they are making a run at the 80's I am only in the mid 30's but all of the sudden I feel old. |
So have I. I'm 23. Back home only the classic rock station still does Mandatory Metallica. |
I thought that "Our Lips Are Sealed" was a new song.
You're using your when you're is what you're after. |
Ouch!z |
So did I and I thought the Haley and Hillary Duff sang it. My rock station still does Mandatory Metallica though! |
This is what happens when people complain about not having any 'new'-'old' music.
I'll do without, thanks. |
well when I was a kid in the 70's/80's the oldies stations played stuff from the 50's.
You do the math. Songs from the 80's are oldies now. |
No, that would be "yer a spelling nazi." |
The music in the grocery store includes Van Halen and Rush. Is classic rock now easy listening music?
The girls in Go Go's gotta be aproaching their 50's, bunch of old goats!
I don't even know what you're talking about... |
Come on Dude, I'm 32 and I know the Go Gos are oldies. Hell, they were oldies a year or two after their release.
The 80s equivelent of the soccer mom listened to the Go Gos as she went to pick up her kids from grade school. |
No, the oldies are the Beach Boys and Frankie Valley not Adam Ant or the Eagles for crying out load. |
No, we is gettin olde.
I consider anyone born after 1980 a child |
Eagles are fuckin old, have you seen Glenn Frey recently? |
No, but I was looking at that picture of Eddie VanHalen someone posted. Drugs are bad ummmkkkaaay. |
I always thought that song was about chastity. Our Lips Are Sealed Go-Gos (Jane Wiedlin/T. Hall) Can you hear them They talk about us Telling lies Well that's no surprise Can you see them See right through them They have no shield No secrets to reveal It doesn't matter what they say In the jealous games people play Our lips are sealed Careless talk Through paper walls We can't stop them Only laugh at them Spreading rumors So far from true Dragged up from the underworld JUst like some precious pearl It doesn't matter what they say In the jealous games people play Our lips are sealed Pay no mind to what they say It doesn't matter anyway Our lips are sealed There's a weapon We must use In our defense Silence When you look at them Look right through them That's when they'll disappear That's when you'll be feared Hush, my darling Don't you cry Quiet, angel Forget their lies |
98 Rock! |
I remember when I heard The Police on an oldies station. I freaked out a little bit.
Your avatar freaks me out! |
Wouldn't that be a grammatical error? |
Don't feel so bad..The "Oldies" station stopped playing my songs... |
They already remade that song. |
I have their greatest hits CD. I was in love with Belinda after her makeover.
Actually, it about HAVING sex. I saw a 'Behind the Music' on them, and they were laughing about it. Gena Schok was a hotty, as was Janet...hell, I'd hit them all...But I think I'd take Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles over Belinda... THe funny thing was that they started out as a punk band, but couldn't stir up any label interest.. |
It does take some getting used to, but I like the music from the '70s and '80s best anyway.
Last time I was shopping at the HEB (local mega chain), I heard the ORIGINAL "Sweet Child of Mine" by GnR. Blew me the fuck away. But the Go Go's "Our lips are sealed" was played at the May 2005 Hun Farm GTG by one of the not so straights. And was the subject of much ridicule. |
I noticed that too, my parents used to listen to Kool108 all the time, and they shifted out of the music they listened to. That and they also play Christmas music right after Halloween! |
The Go Go's? In a Floyd Only Zone? |
They throw in some U2 and some music by the Cars from time to time, but it's mainly 60's and 70's.
Do you get the same station? |
Photoshop or Plastic surgery? |
