OK, I've read a few of the other threads on the 57. I have also been to the 57forum.

I have done a lot of research on this pistol and have come up with a lot of conflicting information. I really like the gun and would like to buy one. I can get one NIB from a dealer for $815.00. That's a pretty tempting price.

These pistols seem to be selling good lately so new experiences are always happening at the range and on the street.

Any input from current owners or LEO's that carry them would be appreciated.

I have a IOM and a PS90. I don't consider them defensive guns. I consider them shootable collectables.

Sarah Brady will have a coronary if you buy one.

Feinstein will shit her pants.

went into the local gun shop...saw a 5 7..not impressed with the feel of the gun..it just felt cheap.. the tag NIB was about 775.

not about to spend that kind of money on a gun that feels like a high point...

i wish i had the luxury of shooting it...maybe that would change my mind..

IME they are tack drivers. Light recoil and very accurate. If the ammo was cheaper, I'd shoot it more often.

If there was ammo out there that penetrated 12" in gel, I'd have it on my night stand.

Gun control activists call the Five-seveN a "cop-killing gun," and they have enlisted the support of several law enforcement organizations in their effort to outlaw it. Steve Lenkart, the legislative director of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, a labor union, has called the handgun "an assault weapon that fits in your pocket."

"We are very grateful to Senators [Frank] Lautenberg (D-N.J.), [Jon] Corzine (D-N.J.) and [Chuck] Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Congressman Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) for introducing legislation in the Senate and the House of Representatives to outlaw this weapon," said Michael Barnes, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence united with the Million Mom March.

This pistol is in MHO a colectable, It will go the way of the Broomhandle mauser. If you have 800 to invest and can buy a case of ammo for it. and 10 mags. Go get it. In 20 years it will be remembered. And collected.

I'd rather buy the aforementioned Broomhandle.

Remember when those were selling out of Shotgun News for ~$150? Early '90s.

It reminds me of the Broomhandle too, the PDW of WWI.

I will pass on the pistol, but I would like the PDW.

I bought one, bought a few extra mags and some ammo. I went and ran 20rds through it once. I loved the gun, liked the way it shot...liked everything about it. I just felt like it was too expensive to shoot. It sat in my vault in it's nice factory case for a while. I sold it and bought something that I didn't feel guilty (ammo cost) about shooting more often. Everyone said the ammo will get cheap...it hasn't yet. If it ever does get to be $7-$10 for 50....I will probably buy another one.

I'm cheap when it comes to shooting. I run Wolf through everything because I like to shoot alot of rounds when I go out......I couldn't justify the ammo price.

I still think it is by far the coolest pistol I have ever owned..it fit my hand great. I have long fingers.

From my experience with the weapon as a Navy SEAL in Counter Strike.  I found the weapon to be nicely balanced and easy to aim.  It was also very accurate and I was even able to accomplish head shots from across maps.  I did not use it much however because for up close shooting it took many shots to bring a T down. It was underpowered.

Well DUH! If you look at the weapon stats, you would clearly see that the FN 5-7 is underpowered, while that P90 thing is a high-powered SMG. The clear choice is to get both.

Damn n00bs
