We are never leaving BECAUSE they will be shooting each other like mad. Animals, the whole lot of them. They need something we cannot and will not provide, ie. A brutal, hard, unforgiving hand in dealing with insurrection. They only respect fear and intimidation and brute force. Nothing else will keep the peace.

A benevolent dictator might work, but a dictator all the same.  As a group, the Arab cultures can't maintain the responsibility that is necessary to maintain freedom.  They waste time fighting over the interpreted meaning of passages in a book, or because of tribal affiliation.  Feel for those who have the sense but not the means, & are stuck there yet dealing w/ it all.

To borrow a phrase: They can't be bargained or reasoned with...& they will not stop - ever - until they kill each other off & take anyone else nearby down w/ them.

Lead the horse to water, then watch it drop a load therein.
