How many of you keep your ammo under lock and key, such as in a safe or lock box....? I'm thinking of doing this, but have apretty big stash that just keeps on growing. Perhaps a JobBox anchored down in the garage....?.....

There is too much to lock up.

I don't have that much room in the safe.
Link Posted: 3/14/2006 3:54:51 PM EDT
nope

no room in the safe

its in ammo cans

It started out in the safe at one point. Not anymore

I do, I have give or take 10 K in the safe and I am out of room. Need another safe.

An added advantage to storing you ammo in your safe is that it makes that MOFO HEAVY! Harder for it to just walk away.

The apartment I’m has a walk in closet in the master bedroom. It’s a two bedroom apartment and it’s just me living here. So, I made the master bedroom my computer room/study and sleep in the smaller bedroom.

I took the old doorknob off of the walk in closed and put a lock on. I keep my ammunition, gun safe, DVDs, and CDs locked up in there. I trust apartment maintenance but I figure it’s better safe than sorry. Someone could get in fairly easily if they wanted, but it’s just a little extra layer of security.

Nope, way too much of that stuff. The guns are locked away that is good enough.

I've got the wall of ammo cans going now as well. Crap thing is, some kid busts in and swipes a 50cal can off 5.56, or 40SW, etc. I'd be pissed. Really pissed if the bastards brought a truck...

Mine is stored upstairs across from my den.

No need to lock it up. If anyone ever thinks it's worth their life they are welcome to come & get it.

You mean I should dig it up, put it in a safe, then bury the safe?

I had to give it a second look too.

The pics are of two different securing safes.

Left one has ammo...the right one has the icky guns.

I have an intergrated bookshelf covering one of my walls in the basement. A lot of my ammo is located there.

I use the LArge greenlee job boxes. Lock are hard to get to. Bolted down.

If they can carry it out crates without my nosey neighbors noticing, they can have it.
Link Posted: 3/14/2006 8:06:19 PM EDT
why lock up both? the only thing i would do is build some sort or heat resistant box maybe lined in nomex or something and stick it in a closet just for fire safety

hell its either that or rent a loader to hide it all
