Being a SW fan that was very impressive, a little corney at times but very well done.
Link Posted: 3/14/2006 2:34:22 PM EDT
Cool. Those dorks actually look like they've had some training.

That scene was as good as any of the lightsabre handling in the Empire Strikes Back.

Quite good for a bunch of amateurs.

That being said, they have way too much time on their hands.

Neat effects, alot of work done there, and they're still dorky teenagers. You can have creativity, spend alot of money, work really hard and still be vagina repellant.

The guy reappearing after he died was a schtick on the guy's film-making experimentation.

Go hear to read more: voicefilms.typepad.com/voicefilms/2004/06/lightsaber_kid_.html

And yes, he's got mad skills and it got him noticed. He was hired by Lucas Arts.

I love the people on this board making fun of a 20 year old kid who is now doing special effects for lucas arts.

But that is just too freakin cool. He put a LOT of time and effort into that, and it shows...that's just awesome.

They will probably end up staring a SFX company in Hollywood and make more money than they know what to do with

Getting drunk and hunting tail. Niether of which were worthy uses of time. I can't see the video because I don't install flash but if it got him noticed and hired for special effects I'm sure his ability to buy some pie just got better. Money makes men more attractive real sudden like.

Is the guy that got hired the stocky one or the skinny one?

This was okay, but I remember another light saber duel between two asian dudes highly skilled in martial arts. THAT one was really cool.
Link Posted: 3/15/2006 3:30:39 PM EDT
I found that entertaining. It made me laugh at a couple of spots. Great job guys! ...Hog

Very well done on a limited budget. As to nerds? Bill Gates at a high school graduation once gave his rules for life. One was not to pick on nerds, you may wind up working for them.

My daughter knows these kids. Not as as much "wow" and a lot of silliness but some of it is actually worth watching.

It's called "The Art of the Saber" and was made by a couple of brothers who are pretty skilled in Shaolin or similar chinese arts, inlcuding some Wushu. Very, very fast, very, very tight.

I'll try to find a link.

Here we go:

Not bad at all.

But Art of the Saber is still the best I've ever seen bar none. It is BADASS.
