WASH POST's Ben Bradlee Claims Plame Leaker Was Richard Armitage
Mon Mar 13 2006 10:48:34 ET

THE WASHINGTON POST's famous Watergate editor Ben Bradlee claims that it was former State Department Deputy Secretary Richard Armitage who was the individual who leaked the identity of CIA official Valerie Plame.

In the latest issue of VANITY FAIR: "Woodward was in a tricky position. People close to him believe that he had learned about Plame from his friend Richard Armitage, Colin Powell's former deputy, who has been known to be critical of the administration and who has a blunt way of speaking. 'That Armitage is the likely source is a fair assumption,' former WASHINGTON POST editor Ben Bradlee said."

'I had heard about an e-mail that was sent that had a lot of unprintable language in it.'"

Still at it with their fake scandle are they?

How is it possible to "out" someone who NEVER WAS a covert operative?

Or do they mean just outing her for being a leak?

The prosecutor has no intention of showing any damage to security.  He seems intent on the issue of "lying" whether it was about breakfast, the time or Plame's ID.  I think he's just trying to prove that Libby lied, thinking he may have done something wrong (but really hadn't).  If Libby did reveal her name in a conversation and admitted to it I don't think this guy could do anything.

I read somewhere that the simple fact her address was an embassy proves she was not covert.  No coverts ever have an embassy address.

Actually her husband "outed" her in Vanity Fair magazine.

On FNC this morning there was a story about a newspaper that Googled the address of the CIA headquarters and was able to complile a list of a couple thousand CIA employees.  Not only that, there were then able to find the address of other CIA facilities.

Covert my ass.
