(Please ignore my many probably grammatical errors in the following)

I was just down at the local Barnes and Noble with my wife and got to thinking about the hundreds of guys out there writing for all the dozens of gun mags out now. The vast majority just plain suck and give about as much useful information as a untortured islamic fundamentalist. I assume most of them have FFL's and receive the guns at the homestead but how in the hell do you get to the point where Bushmaster sends out the brand new XM15 Zapamatic? Maybe Fortier will grace me with his presence. He is the newest wunderkind gunwriter. I would love to hear the average guys pedigree as to writing.
I can write a 1500 word report on whatever EBR you wish to send me RRA,Colt,Bushy,or whoever. Please get in contact with me and be sure to include about 2500 rounds so i can truly wring out your gun.

P.S. Gun companies: I have absolutely no compunctions about lying through my teeth and or keyboard about how awesome your piece of shit new rifle may be !!!

P.P.S. Tongue in cheek galore above kiddos

If it's so easy, go for it!

Write a review on a gun YOU have and let us critique it.

It's easy to criticize. Taking that criticism (I went to art school, I know all about criticism) with grace can be difficult to do, especially when you're first getting started. You haven't developed a thick enough skin yet to where it doesn't wreck your day when they say "Yeah, uh, this isn't what I was looking for..."

edit: Some writers jump right into the handling and gunplay. Some do research on the companies and the histories of the actual firearms and give that to us too. If they all wrote the same way, it would be boring, no?

Get in the system\industry and distinguish yourself(most likely from "connections" YOU make)

I think you have to get the ammo from the ammo manufacturers, not the firearms manufacturers

Those that can't do AND can't teach, wind up getting a job writing about it.

Do they have any really gorgeous woman gun company owners? I could work that angle.

Gun writers and gun magazines are useless anymore if you have the internet.

The only reason to keep a subscription is for the monthly gun porn.

In other words. Gun writers are useless, photographers making gun\ammo porn are still usefull.
