"was" being the operative word here.

You see, they only planted the story recently that Maxwell Smart passed away. He's actually in charge. Someone must have skipped the class on flying under the radar.

The paper also identified facilities in Chicago, northern Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah and Washington state. It said some were heavily guarded, but others appeared outwardly to be private residences.

The New York Times would have made this a front page story complete with pictures, biographies, and addresses.

While I have my doubts as to the validity of the story (the CIA may very well be humoring them to avoid getting to specific regarding covert operations), kudos to the Tribune for showing discretion.

Yet another shining example of US "intelligence," our first line of defense.........

Naturally, those responsible, will be held accountable for their actions, and dereliction of duty.

Probably with a promotion, or a rose garden presentation of the Medal of Freedom, by the president.........
