If you need to cut thick lumber or logs this is a great tool.
I bought a worn drive saw to power it and it works great.

Cuts through a 10 inch beam in no time.

That's pretty neat. It would be handy for building an old-school barn. Railroad ties would fuck that thing up in short order, though.

Does it have a chain oiler?

Does it use chainsaw chains, or something different?

I don't think so, It ripped right through a green 10 x 10 of pine.

It's not the size; RR ties are soaked in Creosote.

railroad ties seem  much  harder and heavier than pine.  They may be the same thing, but they sure don't seem like it.  I have a 12 am circular saw and it had all it could do to cut through a railroad tie yesterday.
