What do you guys pay on average for digital cable w/ movie channels and high speed internet???
For the first time in awhile I really looked at my bill and could not believe what I was paying...I am a comcast customer. $168 a month |
Close. $150.
I have way more channels than I watch, all the movie channels, On Demand and DMX music channels. Plus Broadband. I really dont think its worth that, but to cut that bill down to size, I would have to gut my package, and that aint happening either. |
$0 - I am part owner of my ISP.
I pay about $48 for my digital cable though. No cable internet available around here. |
I'm coming over to your house. |
Zero, nada, zip, my wife's company provides us with a SBC/Yahoo 1.5mbps down and 250kBPs up, but we get a broken connection every so often, and screws up my son's game with his Sony PS2. Cost is around $30 per month. SBC/Yahoo is adequate, but my son pays Adelphia Cable Internet at $43/month, 5mbps down, and 1.5mbps up. From me
Dish Network. America's Top 180 and Sprint DSL billed together $75.
I am saving $45+ dollars over Charter Cable and Charter Internet and getting better programming. |
$120 for High Speed, Basic cable, HBO, Show, Skinemax, DVR, All Sports package.
Mediacom extended family basic w/ no movie channels or fancy pants stuff and cable internet-$96/mo
Right at $100 for basic cable and cable broadband service. I get about 4Mbps down, and maybe .5Mbps up.
Five years ago, it started as about $85, but has crept it's way up. |
Digital Cable w/Encore movie Pack and Cable Internet runs $91.00 a month here. Insight Cable. Too much.
I saw a commercial the other day that claimed that when cable companies compete, the rates drop dramaticly. It said that some cable companies even gave away internet access to their customers as a perk for doing business with them. Anybody gettin free cable internet? |
DSL = 4.00 / month
( I work for the ISP) Dish Network, 40 something a month. |
I am on a promotional rate from Comcast:
$70 for high speed internet + all the cable channels + HBO & encore. |
15 /mo for a year on dsl for me (768)
promotion from sbc probably 100/mo after that |
DSL is the better deal around here IMO and both phone companies are starting to do dry DSL where do don't need to pay for the regular phone service(but you'll still need the physical setup).
$30 for 3mbt down and 768kbt up. $15 for 768kbt down and 128kbit up. The $50 package for cable is like 4mbt down and 384kbt up. The $60 cable package is 8mbt down true 768 up. I think the DSL packages are better deals. For $45 a month I get dish network with tivo. That gives me all the channels I need. So $30+$45= $75. It could be $60 if I wanted the 768 package. I pay $30 for basic phone service so really $90 or $115. |
I own the cable company in town.
I charge $63.84 for basic cable and internet Internet alone is $39.95 |
"But sir, you ARE the man". "I know". |
$62ish for basic cable tv and cable internet thru Comcast in Atlanta
Did you have to climb a telephone pole to get that good of a deal??? Digital cable, Roadrunner and phone service about $150... (no movie channles) |
$0
I am far too cheap to pay for cable or HSI. Plus I hate tv. $70/mo = 1 AR per year |
802.11b Wireless Internet. $70/mo negotiated down to $30 (plus a contract and equipment waiver) for 1MB/384k. The negotiated price is a long story, but I've been known to haggle at a Macy's.
$82 for DISH max package with HBO and DVR.
$32 for SWB 3.0M DSL. DanM |
All those prices just reinforced why I don't have cable and still use dial up.
About $107 for high speed internet and HD cable, with no premium channels.
Dial up sucks balls. I'd pay $100 a month just for HS internet if I had to just not to have to use dial up. The difference between dial up and high speed internet is like the difference between walking and drving a car. |
I don't subscribe to cable or satellite or any similar system. I only subscribe to DSL internet, which costs me about $20/mo for 3mbps/768kbps down/up.

Around $90 a month for high speed cable and their basic cable channels. Was running a little over $115 a month when I had digital also, but meh, I dunno how worth it that was.
If I were 5 miles closer to town i'd have both the basic cable and internet for only $60 a month. |
If you park your semi next to the right hotels <cough><cough> it's FREE
$77 for basic cable+ (no premium channels, no porn), 2.5Mbps download. Cox just bought my old service provider so I expect rates to go up.
Me too |
$114.95 a month. That is for digital cable w/ no extras, just basic cable w/ upper tier (AMC, Boomerang, ALTV, etc.) no HBO, no Cinemax, no PPV. Includes cable internet access.
It is teh sucketh to pay so much for so little. |
I was paying $89 a month for basic cable + internet, but recently upgraded to basic digital. Now it's approx $110.
I was missing my SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica... |
It disgusts me that there is only one cable company that I can buy from and as such they charge whatever the fuck they want. I hate monopolies.
I pay $111 now for digital cable (no 'preminum' movie channels) and internet at 3.5 Mbs down. Rarely ever have problems with my service though. |
133.30
That's Comcast digital silver cable plus sports package (encore and starz plus all the channels up to 299) and my internet. |
I think my internet and cable bills run about $60/month apiece IIRC.
I work in the cable industry. Cablevision just got a bunch of accolades because they were the first cable company to have and average >$100 / month per customer.
I pay $100 phone and DSL and $72.76 for cable. My employer re-imburses me for my DSL, so my net is around $130. I've been thinking about dumping BellSouth and going w/ my cable modem and Vonage. |
It was such a good promotional deal, that I couldn't pass it up. I think it might expire soon (actually thought it was over last month) and I am not looking forward to the rate increase. |

Vonage is OK untill you have a problem then you will learn to hate them as I do... I had their "service" for 2 years. I dropped them 2 months ago and they are still billing me. I call them and they say they'll fix it, and then I get billed again. Now I have to get my credit card company involved. Oh BTW you better learn Pakistani before you call "customer service". |
I get the 8MB download/784 upload cable connection from Comcast -Free
I get the "Platinum +/Everything" digital cable from Comcast- Free I get the DVR cable box - $3 Oh what fun it is to be a Comcast Employee. You could say, my deal's Comcastic!! |
I'm with the Cableman, 04Hemi and the other members, $0. As an "unpaid" CTO, it's the very least they could do....... |
DVR with all available channels, Cable Modem and VOIP Phone and half price on pay per view for around $15 or $20.00 a month
Work in the Cable industry. |
i have all the digital, HD, movie channels, high speed and digital phone.
my cost is $20 a month. helps to work for the cable co. |
