Who makes a good target stand to staple targets to for sighting in rifles and handguns?

Just use some PVC....

make a rectangle out of 1-1/2" to 2'' inch tube, maybe 16" x 10" or edit: (a little shorter than your target is wide) and in the middle of the long sides put in a "T" piece with the single open side up.  Get a few 1"x2" wood pieces, put the end in the open end of the "T", tack on your target and you are set.

We had several stands made from 2" x 2" square tube welded into a letter 'H' at 24" with two pieces (four inches) vertical at the crossers. This allowed 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" to be set in place. Pieces of tintest (cheap fibre board / around $5.00 for a 4' x 8') cut 24" by 48" works for the backer material. Staple where needed.

You could also make this out of lumber. If you don't have the tools/skills to make it, take the dimensions to your Home Depot/Lowes and have them cut it, then all you have to do is assemble it with nails/screws.

Several Real Estate companies make a pretty high quality target stand.

Of course you need to aquire one legally.

They're legal to snag Monday - Thursday if posted on public property in the DFW area.

What I find of interest, why would you know of such a law....

Home depot sells cheap yard signs. Get the ones with the thin wire stand and then you can change the cardboard anytime U want.

Armadillos work pretty good, although they tend to move around a little (at first)...

+1

Or you can buy to wall joists, lop 21" Inches of each one and use them as cross beams, add cardboard and your done. Its how the stands provided by the State of Florida are done

Wait until the day after the next election(local or national) and get some of the signs off the side of the road. On the plus side, it's a public service as well.

As soon as the November elections are done you need to round up as many signs as you can.  I've still got some from November 04'.   They make the bast IMHO.  They are free to you, and you're saving somone else from having to pick them up.

I made mine out of scrap wood, it comes apart into 2 pieces.

I have a bunch of pre-cut cardboard for a backing.

Use wood.  With PVC, one stray round can put you out of business for the rest of the day.
