Is there a "palm" OS for PC's?

I don't think Linux really counts, last time I tried Mandrake on a machine it really bogged it down compared to the Win2KPro I previously had on the same hard drive in the same machine.

I'd consider myself, on your scale (in first post), around 10-9-9

How old are the machine's specs? If it's pretty old (>3 years), I'd say to not upgrade to XP, and wait another 8 months, and build a new machine around Vista.

If it's a pretty new machine (< 1 year), then it's really up to you. I'd still rather wait and upgrade the rig and get Vista later.



Now, given what you do with the computer, there's absolutely no reason to upgrade anything for now, period.
