Sounds mostly like a Harley.
If you want to buy an overpriced bike for its unique sound, look into a used Ducati 996. They rev alot higher than the Harley and at high revs the V-twin sounds like a friggin B-17 Flying Fortress just went by! A suzuki SV650 is also a twin and sounds very sweet.
The SV650 will trounce a firebolt on the track. They also make an SV1000 if your racing is all in a straight line. Ducatis are sweet, but the cost of ownership is extremely high. Honda superhawks are fast liter- twins also. I really like twin-sports, there are many advantages over the RR-type I-4s for a street or short-track bike. |

It will be a slower pace than a asian or european sport bike since it runs at lower RPM.
It does not sound much like a harley due to the differing muffler arrangement. |

Find a used Suzuki TL1000R that has the rotory shock removed and the Yosh black box / pipe on it.

I rode a Firebolt at a Harley open house several years ago. They sound like a 5.0 Mustang. I'd call it a smooth snarl. Not quite the bark of a Duck, but similar. All of the liter class V-twins sound great.
