IMHO, interesting articles tainted by rampant paranoia, and ruined by extreme anti-semitism.

Raf, could you specify which article it was that you thought was tainted with paranoia?
And are you saying that discovering some TRUTHS about Israel is considered anti-semitism? Should we just turn the other cheek if it involves Israel? Please drag the part of the article that shows extreme anti-semitism here for us all to see... Thanks. I think it is the only newspaper that ever printed nothing but the truth, regardless who the person/country in question was. You can't say that for any other publication out there. |

I don't have any copies on hand, so I'll have to respond relying on memory.
(1) Paranoia. Many articles I've read ultimately attribute the current undesirable state of affairs (as defined by the authors) to the efforts of vaguely defined world-wide organizations bent on evil (as defined by the authors). (2) Anti-Semitism. Many articles I've read seem to blame the Jews for many if not all of our current ills. Not all articles are paranoid or anti-Semitic. Some are one or the other, some are both, and a few are neither. Personally, I find it so time-consuming to wade through articles I feel are crap to find the rare diamond as to not be worth my time. Any info in the Spotlight is available elsewhere, so why bother with reading the Spotlight? The above is my personal opinion, based on casual research over a fairly lengthy period of time. If you disagree, fine. You asked, and I responded. And I have no desire to get into a flame war over the Spotlight. |

I met the publisher, Willis Carto, a few years back at a "meeting". One of the funnier things I've ever seen happened while I was there. I was in the cafeteria eating lunch, when Mr. Carto was walking down the corridor and the leader of the Jewish Defense League, Irv Rubin was walking the opposite way. Rubin sez, "well lookey here. If it ain't Willis Carto, the Nazi!". Without missing a beat, Mr. Carto replied, "Sieg Heil". I almost choked on my food, I was laughing so hard.
