I have a para and love it. I bought it for the hi-cap model. Otherwise I would have bought a Kimber. eta: I suppose thats not much help. good luck. |

If ya want single stack Kimber or Springfeild IMO
I dont like the plastic double stack Kimber though so Para for double stackage |

i own a Kimber CDPII. i would highly recommend this pistol to anyone.
I personally would never buy a compact 45. full size or no 1911 for me. |

Out of 12 pistols in my safe, my Kimber TLE/RL is my favorite. People freak out how accurate it is when they shoot it.

+1 Kimbers attention to detail and execution of their product is excellent. Para's is good, but Kimber's is excellent. |

... The Para-Ordnance line is the most underrated pistol on the market. They had some minor problems in the past. As is the case with almost any out-of-the-box 1911, very minor tuning makes them handsome, accurate and reliable platforms.

I have a 7/45 LDA and I really like it . Para - Ord is like the Mini-14 of 1911's , in that a lot of people bash them even though they never owned one . Handle and if possible , shoot both . Don't make up your mind based on a poll . |

I think it depends on you. Do you have larger hands? Are you going to be using it for conceal carry? For me I like the full size Para Ordnance for shooting and the Kimber Ultra Carry for conceal.

When it comes to AR's or 1911's I'm an admitted Colt kool aid drinker.
Have you checked out the NRM series 80 Colts? Cheaper than a Kimber. |

I've got a ten year old Kimber Pro Carry with >20K rounds through it. It shoots accurately and reliably. MIM parts or no, the only thing that ever went wrong with it was a broken magazine release return spring screw. Aside from that, I've probably had six or eight non-magazine or -ammo related FTFs in all that time.

Same goes for the Kimber with the external extractor. I have one, and have had NO problems with it whatsoever. That being said, get a Colt, like Ryann says. Or a Sig. |

If you can get over this hurdle, then yes RRA 1911 all the way. I had one and loved it, but I have other that I like just as much. No need for me to have a $1400 1911, even though it was very nice. |

I have owned both. I used to have a Kimber Gold Match 1 that I still miss to this day.
 I'll never know why the hell I sold it.I currently own a tricked out P16 that I shoot IPSC Limited with. Both are/were excellent pistols. That said, if I were going to get another single stack, it would be a Kimber (or maybe a Springfield Loaded). CO |

This was the one I bought w/ its 50yd factory test group:  I sold it because I didn't need a $1400 1911, I got a Kimber and a Glock 19 instead. Just made a choice of how to use funds more efficiently, I HIGHLY recommend RRA 1911's. |

Will the Para double strike,does it have an external hammer that can be cocked again if a last strike doesn't fire a round?
If you have to re-slide to get the pistol to fire again,that might not be good! I may be thinking of another pistol! Bob

I had the cmplete oposite experience. I had 4. Lots of rounds fired through, never a failure. 1 was stolen at a hunt, 1 is now my uncles gun, and I sold the other 2 because I am an idiot. Para barrels are exceptionally accurate, and with that integral ramp, it eliminates alot of "1911 are jam-o-matics" worries. |

We all got to try it The reset is measurably slower, being longer. Nobody liked it. The owner sold it afterwards |
