I'm a lot more worried about the coming zombie infestation.

Wouldn't introducing that much freshwater into the ocean also significantly drop the specific gravity (and salinity), killing almost all ocean life?  Or is this event going to take three million years to complete, thereby giving everything enough time to evolve?

Great, I quess I'm going to build my cabin on top of Mt. Washington N.H.

The funny thing is that humans are supposedly making the oceans more salty by using so much fresh water in rivers that empty into the ocean.  We even built a desalinization plant on the Colorado River to help prevent that.

BTW with Antarctica, the part that should melt first is the big ice shelf (Ross Ice Shelf?).  It is partially on land and if it ever drops completely into the ocean it will be like dropping a big ice cube into a lass of water.

It's gonna happen two days BEFORE the day after tomorrow!

We had better get moving with the rebuilding of New Orleans.  Just how in the HELL can we have another "largest disaster in our nation's history" if we don't rebuild it ASAP, below sea level?

Two new studies find that despite the increasing snowfall that comes with global warming as a result of the increased moisture in the air, Antarctica's ice sheets are losing far more than the snow is adding.

Antarctica is a fucking desert. It took millions of years for the snow/ice to accumulate.
It's going to take a long time for the snow/ice on the polar plateau to melt.

Basically, Antarctica is a snow and ice "factory" with ice depths on the Polar Plateau reaching 15,000 feet (the continent's average ice thickness is 7,000 feet). Thus, one of Antarctica's most important resources is its ice. It is said that Antarctica's ice accounts for 70% of the world's fresh water. Some people have considered towing icebergs from Antarctica to parts of the world in need of fresh water.

As strange as it sounds, however, Antarctica is essentially a desert. The average yearly total precipitation is about two inches. So, where did all this snow and ice come from? The answer lies in Antarctica's unique location at the bottom of the world and the unique weather conditions that exist there.

How long can you tread water?

Don't worry about the zombies, they are staying in Antarctica.

The zombies are being made by the Nazi scientists in Antarctica.

The Illuminati is paying for the Nazi scientists to develop/create the zombies.

The zombies will provide both psychological and physical security for the oil drilling and refining operations in Antarctica.

Bush/Cheney/Halliburton are operating their second weather machine in Antarctica to melt the snow/ice so they can drill for oil once the polar ice cap has been melted.

The Peak Oil Cartel will then be able to run the worlds economy via the Antarctic oil supply.

Nuclear Winter will counter act Global Warming and everything will be fine.

except it will be the asteroid that hits in 2012 (or was it 2102? maybe 2021?  whenever)  directly on top of the Yellowstone supervolcano.  The resulting soot burden in the atmosphere will exactly balance out global warming and everything will be fine.

If not the 300 foot deep ash deposits on most of North America will balance the sea level rise.  Again, nature finds a balance.
