You are looking at an Olympic-style TKD match. In order to score you need to produce what is called "trembling shock" in your opponent with your strikes. Since this is easier with a body shot, the body is typically targeted by guys who have been at it for a while. Headhunters are typically rookies in the sport. Keeping both arms down helps to protect the torso against kicks and also serve to keep the body relaxed enabling the player to move more quickly during the match and no tire as quick. |
