Check with your tax collector's office. You can also do an online search in the Clerk of court for the deed filing.

Yep, here on the counties website they have a parcel locator that lets you look it up by address, name, etc.

Yep, usually information can be found on County websites who have GIS (Geographical Information Survey/Systems). Here in NC, you can now find out about most properties down to the number of fireplaces with cross referencing to deed books and pages. Surely the progressive state of Kalifornia has the same.

Just go to the county website and look for "real estate maps" or GIS.
