CTU, like on 24?
I met a guy at the range Sunday that volunteered that
he was practicing for the CTU yearly marksmanship test. He said he's been in the CTU for years. Sometimes the range can be as entertaining as a gunshow. DanM |

Don't they wear those cool tactical tinfoil boonie hats? |
Before watching 24 last night. My girlfriend and I watched an episode of Moonlighing. They called the FBI and were connected to the Counter Terrorist Unit. In LA no less.
Spooky. |
The bulk of the counter-terrorist responsibilities lies on the FBI's shoulders.
It is fascinating how much they knew regarding Sept 11th, prior to its occurrence. |
DHS has a Joint Counter Terrorism Task Force.
Anything more, and I will have to kill you ETA: I think it is the Joint Anti Terror Task Force, not 'Counter'. |
The first rule about ARFCOM........
You don't talk about ARFCOM. |
A picture of a draft dodging, gun grabbing asshole portraying the typical liberal view of 'nam vets....................as nutso. Your point? |
Actaually, many agencies and departments have counter terrorist units. I'm not sure how many have much in common with the guys on 24.
Yeah, where's Chuck Norris? |
Hopefully, not much. They would never get a damn thing done. |
I'm part of a unit considered "antiterrorist" on paper and spend most of my time drooling on myself. Most of the Hollywood shit is just that - fluffed-up bullshit. Aside from actual units attached to SOCOM - designated for counter-terrorist type ops and NSA/CIA type field weenies - there arent just random groups of "counter-terrorist" operatives wandering around. Usually, the real guys don't talk about it. Normally, a silent professional verses a loud phoney.
Maybe if they shared the information they strive so hard to obtain..or think they obtain... |
Don't forget the FBI, whose counter-terror task force folks are probably about as close to CTU (US LE agency) as there is. CIA isn't supposed to operate in the US and DoD isn't supposed to do LE work without some specific PC exemptions. |
"Joint" is the key-word here... the primary responsiblity is the FBI. |
You're asking about the covert units. Of course we have none. Never had never will. You watch too much TV and movies.
If you mean the various overt units? then most of the services and major law enforcement agencies have them. The Counter Terror Unit for the FBI in Los Angeles is not unknown as they were publicly identified when they responded to a hostage taking incident at the Mexican Consulate. Think of it as a SWAT (Reinforced). In other words not only just a tactical SWAT/HRT type team, but they have a variety of inteligence, and analytical and investigational types attached. You have just run into the "DUH" factor, if there were or are covert units, anybody that knows anything about them isn't going to talk about them on the internet, in person or on Coast to Coast AM or All Night AM. Most people who are involved in secret activities keep them secret, you see their lives depend on that. in other words. |
What about DepEdu? You know, I did a Wikipedia search for alphabet agency to see if they had a listing... it returned 'saber-tooth pastrami' as a result, albeit a low-ranking one... |
JTTF.... |
Bah, if anything, it would be under the NSA. Just ask Sam Fisher.
Spare me the drama, Beatris. It was a fucking joke. Not that I'd expect you to understand. |
Here we go again. |
Delta doesn't exist. You are thinking of Combat Applications Group. Actually, that prolly doesn't exist anymore either. |
If they send you out to get fitted for a red shirt, RUN !. |
Do you have any ACTUAL proof? I doubt it. |
Yep its now the Civil Affairs Group |
That must be why we have SFOD-D recruiting flyers all over post. |
Whatever you do, dont go to one of the briefings, you might not make it out! If your ordered to go, AWOL is better |
No need to be sarcastic bro... I am referring to the Phoenix presidential daily brief and the Amanda Keller questioning. Again, I’m not saying ‘Bush did it!’ or ‘Down with the US’ (nothing of the sort) but you should do yourself a favor and research any of September 11th’s mysterious coincidences… just for curiosity sake, not too mention AMMO when you feel the need to be sarcastic in matters such as this. This isn’t Alex Jones, and I watched it because I friend asked me to…. Disturbing, even to someone such as myself who believes that we absolutely were attacked and that the conspiracy theorists do more harm than good. I did, however, learn a few things watching this. Maybe you should take a look? video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8260059923762628848&q=loose+change |

Wasnt there a 'shootout' documentary on this, and how they helped the USAF commando's be the 1st ones in Kabul after the attacks? |
I vote that anyone who posts the link to that bullshit gets a permaban. |
WOW... settle down there mister! I didn't say what anyone should think or believe, and I didn't force my opinion on anyone. I vote that you should probably watch the video; it opens up with Operation Northwoods, the PNAC, ect. It's not a Bush=bad rant like the garbage Alex Jones is known for. you < intelligent |
Why dont you watch the video, then post your comments afterwards?
Just a suggestion, not trying to enforce an opinion here. |

Jack Bauer does not need "grip enhancers". |
