Yes it is a D8R.

You can see it on the rear panel.

What happened?
Did the dozer try to disrupt the movement of the digger?
Or was it an accident?

D8N and a bucket wheel excavator. That isn't gonna buff out.

That had to make a hell of a sound. I bet it sounded like satan passing a kidney stone.

How much does that digging thing:

Weigh
Cost to buy
Cost to operate
Men needed to man it.

How do they move it?
Link Posted: 2/26/2006 7:23:06 AM EDT
They use them in Europe to strip mine......something I cannot recall what it is.

They move the whole thing as a unit.

They have to pile sand and timbers on the roads when they cross so they do not destroy the road.

It is (or was) used in Germany to mine coal IIRC.

A care bear took down Optimus Prime and Abraham Lincoln at the same time. That thing would surely win over OP.

What's the story?

I have seen the pics of the machine before but not while it was eating a dozer.

I wrench on 4 D8Ks at work- ours weigh 85-95000 lbs, depending how they are equipped.
That stripminer is badass.
